Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We sailed two Greece cruises in October and then the repositioning on Wonder from Spain to FL this past week. We received constant emails regarding the boarding expectations. We also had those same expectations listed on the app and our TA sent them as well. If you are paying attention the info is there, the lawyers make sure of this so the cruise lines are covered. Always have trip insurance and a TA if at all possible. Trips go much smoother when a TA helps along the way. I feel for anyone though that has a trip ruined due to misunderstood information.
  2. For the 2 cruises we sailed on the Jewel in October both sailings we went to Guest Services the day prior to disembarkation they asked, back to original payment or cash. We took cash both times, one had $18 of nonrefundable left so that just went to our room steward by filling out a form and listing him personally and the amount.
  3. Here in Barcelona waiting for all the WB TA cruisers to filter in. Crossing my fingers JFK sends you here after a dream filled flight. I know you are doing all sorts of things in Barcelona that we have done before and you are both in for a real treat! See you all soon. Its been a long several years to see each other face to face.
  4. We were on Jewel for 18 days, we disembarked as you embarked. The ship was full for our 2 sailings but easily managed by the great crew. We are heading back to the states on Wonder, one of the other "competition" ships. Makes me 'Wonder' now if ours will be full? If you can please stop by Schooner for great drinks, mention to John & Renaldo, they are both TERRIFIC that Brian & Guyla miss them. If you like Martini's Renaldo will make you one that is his good friends recipe, one of the best I have ever had! We also in 2019 had some of the best excursions in the Canary islands. Each has its own feel and we will always remember them. Enjoy, looking forward to reading your review and safe sailing!
  5. First three are all very good, Strogenhoff not so great and strip, hit and miss. We have found on a 7 day cruise that often both the prime rib and the tenderloin are offered twice and we often eat beef 5 of the 7 nights.
  6. Our youngest adult son cruised with us on a 8 day Odyssey cruise recently and had the soda pkg. He mentioned that his soda cup extended past the 8 days and could be used up to another 5 days. He flew home to his job and we then boarded Freedom the following day after disembarking Odyssey. Curious, I took the cup to see if it would work thinking there is no way. It did. Now before anyone thinks I kept using it, I did not as I had plenty of drink coupons that at times go to waste. I'm just wondering how that makes sense and if anyone else had found this to happen?
  7. I received one this afternoon and it has a number *7* in the FCC box. So, $7 huh, LOL.??
  8. The cones filling was a off putting tint made to look like a babies diaper and having just previously smelled the eggs, which had a bit of a burnt smell didn't help. When questioned on why the table did not try a couple of the app's it seemed she felt we were not trying the experience as a whole. We tried to play it off as just choosing which foods we preferred as we had so many choices but she made it seem like we weren't hospitable guests. I think she also has some anxiety as the Captain, his wife and 2 guests were a table over from us and she might of felt awkward we were not trying the items.
  9. Count us in for a one and done. The concept is fun, entering and being escorted to the table by the Mad Hatter is a novelty. The server did a excellent job of explaining the various appetizers everyone was to receive and answered knowledgeable questions regarding entrees. Presentation was "interesting". Some foods immediately looked yummy, but some, very unappealing which made for a rather unpleasant feeling of leaving food completely untouched and then being asked about why we didn't at least try it. The "specialty drinks" are 'cool' looking but not that great tasting. Desserts were all good but sweet so very few bites. I'm still happy we had the experience but not one that I see many returning for, including us. I would of least liked to of had one item that I really loved but unfortunately it was all basic to the taste.
