  1. Good Morning Belle - Enjoy the rest of your cruise. I am down this week 1.6# and am down for they year 3.4# I will take it - not really trying to eat healthy. I think that it is because I have finally been able to stop taking steroids --- so am happy about that. At least this time they did not make me insulin dependent .... I do have a doctor's appointment this morning though. The Bell's Palsy is not getting any better .... I am hoping that it changes soon. Hope everyone has a wonderful week. On Saturday we go and visit with our new puppy (yellow lab) and in about a month she can come home!!!. Jan
  2. JustUs275 - Congratulations on your loss that is wonderful! Also thanks for the thoughts ... Love the idea of never having another episode! Jan
  3. I'm glad you started the thread Belle. Right now I'm not weighing, but still trying to be good with eating. So, Belle, what did you get for wine? If you drink it just a little at a time, it really doesn't count (hahaha). Would love to hear about your trip. Hope others come in and talk. Jan
  4. As we age there is always something going on. On Monday afternoon I ended up in the emergency room .... It turns out I have Bell's Palsy ... I will be fine it just might take 2 weeks to 6 months for my face to get back to normal. My right eye won't close (I have to tape it closed to sleep) and my mouth doesn't move on my right side. It is interesting. Found out that I can't drive as my eyes tear and it isn't good when you can't see and are on the road. Life is good, it could be much worse. Jan
  5. That works! There is a new thread each Thursday where some/all/most weigh in that day. We then come in every so often to talk. It is a wonderful group. Jan
  6. Hi Izena - Glad you posted today - Hugs to you. Jan (PS - I'm always around if you want to talk).
  7. Think I gained ... but haven't weighed myself. Talked with Izena and she probably won't be posting for a little while. It is time for some self-care. She is doing ok. Looking forward to her posting in the future. Jan PS - Belle, would love to hear about your cruise!
  8. Belle, its too bad that I didn't see this while I was still in bed! I did get up, but had breakfast and coffee ... so will weigh tomorrow. I'm sure that the scales did not go down. Belle - hope you are having a wonderful time on your cruise! Jan
  9. Belle - congrats on winning (even if you have to pay taxes!) We have had such a mild winter that we thought it was spring for months now .... unfortunately last night it snowed and it is a winter wonderland again. I weighed myself this morning and unfortunately I am up from the last time I weighed by 4.2# - Hopefully it will come off soon. Good luck to all this week. Jan
  10. Izena - I'm so sorry for everything you have gone through. Hope everything gets better!!! HopefulCruiser123 - good that you are holding steady! I am going to wait a week before I weigh myself. Hope everyone has a nice week. Jan
  11. Belle - So far I am not sick, so I think I am going to be ok. Butterscotch is cool. We've decided that her name will be Maggie (as long as it fits). All I have done since being home is eat!!!! Jan
  12. PS - Forgot to add that we are getting a puppy .... they were born about 5 days ago (labs) and we will be getting a yellow female .... Just having a difficult time coming up with a name ... any ideas? I am so excited - it has been over 2 years since we have had a fur baby.!!!! Jan
  13. Good evening - we arrived home this afternoon ... had a wonderful time and enjoyed spending time with family. My DS unfortunately came home with covid (so far no one else is positive - I will test in a few days). I did a lot of walking, but also had a few (or more) drinks daily and dessert. I will weigh myself on Thursday. Now need to lose weight for our cruise in July to Norway and the Fjords.
  14. Welcome Cathy - we are always here and all are willing to be a cheerleader for others ... hope you lose some before your cruise. When is your cruise? Jan
  15. Shoot! That would have been so cool. I do hope you have a wonderful time on your cruise .... we need to plan a time to meet up in the future .... All the best to you! Jan
  16. Izena - Hope you have a wonderful time on your cruise! Jan
  17. Belle - Enjoy your cruise. Izena - congratulations on the loss and that your blood pressure is under control. I am here with 2 kids and it has been fun, but interesting!!! I have been eating anything and everything since Sunday ... might weigh myself tomorrow ... think I am up. We leave next Thursday for our cruise and will be back on the 11th. Hope all have a good week. Jan
  18. Good afternoon everyone!!! I did weigh myself this morning and I am down 1.8# I am very happy ... I saw my oncologist 2 weeks ago and talked to her about my kids saying that they believe I have alzheimer's as I have been repeating myself and asking the same questions over again. The doctor decided to take me off the anti-estrogen for a few weeks as it is known for causing dementia symptoms. I can now remember why I went upstairs and I know where I left my glasses, etc. They are changing the prescription to something else. Hopefully that one works well. I didn't answer questions from last week - On Sunday my daughter leaves for a 5 day cruise with her DH and without kids ... We will have the kids. Then on the 29th we leave for Nola for a few nights and then on a Western Caribbean (Roatan, Costa Maya, Cozumel and Harvest Caye on NCL with our son, his DH and his mother-in-law. Looking forward to it - they are a lot of fun to go cruising with! Hope everyone has a good day. Izena ... hopefully you will have a better loss next week. Jan
  19. Belle, I am having my youngest over for a early dinner/late lunch on Sunday .... We will be doing our "on-line check-in" I'm so excited about this cruise. After dinner and when they leave DH & I will be watching the superbowl - I will try to be better at posting .... Jan

  21. Terri - glad you had a good time with your daughter and that your lunch was worth it!!!! I am spending Saturday with my daughter shopping as her birthday present ... we will do lunch. (she is doing weight watchers, so I think our lunch will be good point wise. They are going on a cruise without their kids in a few weeks (I wonder who has the kids for a week?) Yikes - Jan
  22. Wow Solo Alaska you are doing so well - 5" is amazing. I did weigh myself yesterday and I am down 2.4# this week (most is weight that I had gained since the first of the year ... but will try to keep up a weekly loss - we leave for our cruise in 4 weeks!). Jan

  24. Izena - So glad you are doing better and that the surgery went well. Jan
