Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Are most of your steps from walking on the treadmill, or are you able to use the outdoor walking track ?
  2. I think people here wonder where's that gas station you use to "fill er up" and what grade fuel ?
  3. Great. You probably know that you can request to be seated at the waiter's "station" when you line up for dinner. I snap a picture of the table number which also lists the names for the waiter, assistant waiter and sommelier.
  4. You had a few dinners by now, but have not said much about the service quality. If you happen to be impressed with a waiter, please post the name and table number so we can benefit even more from your review. We made reservations on the app mostly at 7:15pm each evening on the following sailing.to Barcelona. .
  5. When they make it to order they will add as many spoonfuls of pesto as you like. But once in a while you get a new crew member who needs to be coached on what pesto is in the first place..
  6. I actually like pesto sauce, which they don't offer at the 'made-to-order" pasta bar. I ask for it on the first day, and they bring it up from the dining room's kitchen, to have it available at the buffet for the rest of the cruise. Penne with pesto sauce, sun-dried tomatoes and kalamata olives makes a tasty lunch for me on Celebrity.
  7. Thank you. That's just wonderful to know we should make sure not to miss them.
  8. We're going on the next cruise (TA), and the App shows Beyond The Podium presenters as Patti D'beck and David Leong. Two seminars posted so far: Day 4:The Biggest Musical Theater Hits Day 7: The Golden Age of Hollywood Movies Are they the same presenters you have now ? .
  9. The rum balls at the buffet on the Equinox were good. There were not available on the Silhouette. I suggested that those should be made available at Al Baccio, but I was told it was a different pastry chef there so they were not on their list. So you picked up that rum ball upstairs and brought it down to Al Baccio to keep the other two desserts company on the plate ?
  10. We are on the next sailing - Transatlantic to Barcelona. Following along with you will hopefully prepare us for a rewarding experience.
  11. My apologies for posting on the wrong thread. Reference is for Southampton, intended for those on the TA sailing.
  12. Much nicer weather here today. Only a few rain sprinkles and sun peeking out from time to time. Went for a long walk passing the cruise terminals up to Ikea. The restaurant on level 4 has reasonably priced items. Free coffee for Ikea Family membership card holders.
  13. Thank you. Air Canada agent also said I don't need UK ETA to enter the UK. I did not ask him about needing ESTA for arriving to Ft. Lauderdale on Celebrity.
  14. Flying this evening from Toronto and London on Air Canada. I am advised UK ETA is required prior to boarding. Also taking the TA cruise on Silhouette from Southampton to Ft. Lauderdale. I am advised an ESTA is required prior to Boarding the ship for Canadian citizens. Are these new regulations ? Didn't have to do so in the past.
  15. I complained at Guest Relations about the poor internet and asked for some kind of a refund or onboard credit. I was told since it was part of a Plus package, they cannot give any credit. Two days later I happened to walk past the Loyalty desk and the lady was there. I told her I was one cruise short of Platinum. She said the best perk to look forward to in Platinum is 50% off Internet package. I said "what internet - you call what we're getting now internet service ? I told her I asked for a token credit at Guest Services but was denied. I said even a $5 per day credit would be nice. She said "I can to $10/day. She made a note and said - "Done. And if you don't spend it in the remaining day, it's refundable !" We had $120 credit, but Guest Relations would not pay it out in cash. They said since it was over $25, the refund will be coming from corporate head office by check in 6 to 8 weeks. I didn't want to spend any more time waiting in lines so I guess I'll just wait for the refund. I also agree with the comment about the lack of a night light in the bathroom or even a plug so you can bring your own. Poor design. We had the smallest balcony cabin, so I wan't sure if this issue impacted the larger cabins.
