  1. Did you not answer the"scam likely" call you got yesterday"? 😁
  2. There's never a real line. They go on sale in advance, in the casino. If you want to buy, you can go to the casino prior to the start of the game and purchase them. You don't have to wait until they actually your the showroom and sell them in there (where there might be a line)
  3. Sorry, tablets, not Android is really what I should have said. It doesn't work on tablets (not Apple based). But, also, yes there are work arounds to get the app to work on tablets that have been successful for some people, so in some cases, it does work on non- Apple tablets. Celebrity seems to have stopped supporting it though.
  4. Yeah - just ask around - friends, neighbors, etc - someone will have a one generation old phone to give you for free. Don't even bother to buy a new one if you really don't want one - don't waste the $30 on something you'll just throw away. If you can use it on wifi, it should work.
  5. Have not tried on a ship, but will say that depending on your itenerary and what you are trying to watch, you may have some limits due to being international. (Per experience land based- some things worked, some did not, just licensing in some countries, but then, just watch pick something else).
  6. Anytime you see ports listed like Place A ( Place B), you actually dock in Place B. Place A will be the Main attraction city.
  7. What offer do they think you had? This look like their 75% promo they have been running for several months, not like a resident rate.
  8. I like to strike out on my own. I don't find it exhausting to do the research, figure out where to go, what to do, how to get there - I enjoy the planning, because I would rather be on my own timeline. For some - if they don't like to do that, then pre-arranged tours are the way to go. When logistics dictate, I hire a private driver/guide (example Civitecchia to get to Rome and back, Naples when I wanted to go to Pompeii). Hiring a private driver from a reputable company helps ensure that you WILL get back to the ship on time. They are aware of traffic conditions and know when to leave to get you back on time. A lot of the time, I just figure out public or walk from the port if possible. Never missed a ship. But, it all depends on your level of risk tolerance and how comfortable you are DIYing it. You need to enjoy your experience. I always plan to be back at least 2 hours early to be safe. If people will not be comfortable unless they have the assurance of a ship backed excursion behind them, then it is not worth it.
  9. If you are onboard, and you book onboard - then the cruise is automatically assigned to the TA of your current cruise (I suppose you could ask to have that changed to a different TA). If you are not on on a cruise booked through a TA and book onboard, then you can either assign to one, or transfer to one within 30 days. (is how it should work)
  10. This actually looks like a pretty standard French Onion soup recipe. The key will be to really cook the onions low and slow to really caramelize them. Also, the better quality (ie rich tasting) the stock, the better the soup. Give it a go! They do seem to be missing out the cheese topping. Don't forget that!
  11. Ask for the recipe. I've asked for 2 recipes ( an eggplant thing with a miso dressing and a lentil soup). I was given both the next evening, scaled down for 6 servings.
  12. It's so frustrating. After 40 minutes on hold, I was transferred, then that person said "let me put you on hold while I check" and instead hung up on me. I then called back and was on hold for another 30 minutes, when it rang like someone was going to answer, it hung up. rrrrrrrrr
  13. Does the live chat to get help exist on Celebrity website anymore? (USA) I am NOT referring to the app you use onboard. I am meaning the website where you look for / book cruises. I would like to use chat instead of calling customer service if possible. It used to pop up all the time, then only some of the time, now I cannot find it at all, even though their website says they have it (although it would not be the first time their website is wrong).
  14. I was able to log in and try it. I spent about 2 minutes staring at the floor of the cartoon ship, and about 1 minute sitting in a cartoon chair. Then I got kicked out and it says no servers available. So is it a waste of time or not depends on your idea of fun. I'll go with yes, waste of time on this one 😁
  15. I don't think it is generated by people. I think it is the bots.
  16. My husband and I both have Android phones - we did receive alerts that we had messages. Now, if you notice them or not is another story. 😁 You do not need a paid internet package to use X's app. It is free.
  17. I would think she would want her own account as the app is also where you upload your own picture for check in/Sea pass, etc. I mean you don't have to, but it' seems easier. Plus if you think of it like texting on your phone, it's probably easier to see the back and forth discussion with each other separate. Unless there s specific reason she doesn't want her own account, I would just set up the app with her own name.
  18. We did the tour - Apex Exposed: The Art, Architecture and Design Tour in summer of 2022. We really enjoyed it as the host explained the art in detail. We will be on the Apex again and they are offering the tour at a 20% discount for pre-booking. Has anyone done this twice? Do they rotate the art they discuss? I would like to do it again if so, but don't want to re-do the exact same tour. Thanks!
  19. that;s a great view! Not sure what the reviews were talking about. Anyway - husband decided on a CS, so we moved to that, so we are in 1110 now. But thank you for the feedback - much appreciated!!!
  20. Thanks, @jelayne and @Lastdance so this does not sound like it will be too awful. And this has the porthole as well? Thanks again!! Oh - and these seem to have a really slanted out balcony instead of the balcony facing really backwards - do you still get a good aft view of the wake, or do you have to look sideways? Some reviews mentioned that it was not a real aft view because of the angle.
  21. Hi - the other day I asked about Equinox aft corner sky suites. The answers came back - yes, some had poles, some did not. I booked one today. I booked 1666 (deck 11, starboard). I had a look now at the reviews in the spreadsheet and it looks like it has TWO ??? Has anyone stayed in this room - if yes, does it really have two poles, and is this a big issue? I want to be on the starboard side due to the cruise route (Feb 15, 2025 South America) - sailing Buenos Aires to Valpariso. I could switch to another room I guess - but if all starboards have two poles, I will stay there. I am thinking I don't want 2146 (or another non-corner aft) on deck 12 since I don't want to be under the Oceanview Bar. Anyone stayed in a 2-pole room and find it OK? I could get an starboard (not aft) Aqua Sky on deck 12 - but I am not sure I want to be on deck 12 - looks like that is open to the pool deck. Could also do a CS on deck 10 starboard to avoid deck 12 and still get a good view from balcony. Thanks!
  22. Does it vary by number? Some aft corners might have it and some do not?
  23. Equinox aft corner sky suite - is this the one with the (in)famous pole? And the porthole side window? Seem to be able to find info that says yes and also no mention of it. Thanks in advance.
