Thanks :D
Made a big discovery. HUGE. My favourite clothes store on the planet has a branch in Rio. I think maybe this morning's activity has been sorted..... sort of a tradition that I buy one item on each cruise..... still thinking about collecting more zzzzzzzzz first.....
Are you by any chance referring to Desidual Linda? I know you have lots of their unique clothes. Loving the blog. Trish xx

I'm still trying to figure this all out. So if the NY Water Taxi stops at Red Hook, where does it stop in relation to the ship? Is it a mile away or 100 yards? Is it walkable?
It is around a mile away. I did lots of research yesterday. The water taxi from IKEA goes to slip 11 which is Manhattan. We need to to get back to the ship from slip 6 in Battery park which goes to Van Brunt st.. I have to look exactly how to get back to the ship .it doesn't look too far from the ship. We will probably get a taxi from the ship to Battery park, then the water taxi back to the ship. Time is the biggest factor, we have tickets to climb the S O L. at 11am so hopefully we will have enough time to do that and get back ok. Trish & Peter.

Hi all, we are also in NY on the 1st November. Can anyone confirm there is a ferry which sails from Brooklyn to Battery Park & back. We have heard taxis don't always want to take cruise ship passengers back to Red Hook terminal. As we will be leaving at 5pm we can't afford to have issues about getting back to the ship. Thanks, any info would be appreciated. Trish & Peter.

QE2 fan, I totally agree with you, still cringeworthy but the last two episodes were not as bad. We are sailing on the Royal in January, I actually sent an email to Princess telling them I really didn't enjoy the first two episodes & why, stating If I was a first time cruiser I would never choose Princess! We all know this programme was not completely representative of them though! I will post again when I hear back from them. Apparently they have to respond to all emails within 28 days:) Trish

We returned from a wonderful cruise on Celebrity Eclipse yesterday. I recorded the 2 shows we missed as we are sailing on the Royal next January. We are Elite members with both Celebrity & Princess & have enjoyed all our cruises with both lines. Based on this awful programme I would never cruise with Princess. The show is in no way indicative of the Princess line, just pure sensationalism. Where did they find some of those people? They must have trawled the ship in order to find the very worse passengers they could! Whilst they do have game shows etc, there are many quiet, sophisticated places to be on board. Princess have, in my opinion shot themselves in the foot, if they attract this type of passenger due to this show, I for one will jump ship! As for the assistant cruise director, did they bring him in especially for this show? I don't think on all our numerous cruises I have ever seen anyone so cringeworthy! I will tentatively reserve further judgement until after our cruise on this ship:eek:

We've sailed with Princess, Celebrity, RCCL, Regent , P&O, overall Regents food was incredible, Celebrity also exceptional, RCCL ok, Princess really good, P&O awful on the P&O cruise even cruisers who won't sail with any other line complained about the standard of what was served! It was the Arcadia, hope there's been an improvement!!We'll be sailing with Oceania soon, their food has brilliant reviews so heres hoping it lives up to its reputation.
