We are booked on Symphony for next January and have been watching assorted cruise videos which sometime highlight the Chef's Table experience. DH was very impressed by this and would like to add this to our cruise experience. This will be our 16th cruise and we thought to add something new to our trip. How do you sign up for this and what is the cost? I was always under the impression that this was akin to dining with the Captain and it was an invitation only venue.
Sue
If it is available go for it. We have met so many wonderful people and we are still friends from most of our cruises. Sometimes you will meet people not to your liking but this is with everything in life.

Royal Caribbean announced a massive enhancement and extension to its Cruise with Confidence program, which allows guests to cancel their cruises up to 48 hours before sailing.
https://www.*****.com/sites/default/files/fb/cwc-1.jpg
The "enhanced & extended Cruise with Confidence policy" was announced on Wednesday , where guests can cancel up to 48-hours prior to sailing in exchange for a 100% Future Cruise Credit on sailings through April 2022 for bookings made on-or-before August 1, 2020.
In addition, Royal Caribbean announced "Lift & Shift", where guests can move their existing booking to next year, protecting their original price and promotion.
Lift & Shift is available by selecting a future sailing on the same itinerary type, sailing length, stateroom category, and within the same 4-week period of their original cruise date same-time-next-year. It is not required that your client rebook on the same ship or ship class.
Guests are eligible to rebook under the Lift & Shift guidelines between now and August 1, 2020. After this point, Lift & Shift expires and is no longer eligible.
All pre-cruise purchases will be removed during the re-accommodation process and can be added to the future reservation, as desired, at prevailing rates.
You can opt to Lift & Shift only one time.
Guests who take advantage of the Cruise with Confidence program can get a 100% Future Cruise Credit if they decide they would like to cancel their cruise vacation due to the current global situation.
Non-Refundable Deposit bookings are eligible for Cruise with Confidence and follow the same guidelines.
If you purchased a hotel or transfer, here is how it works:
-
When electing for a Future Cruise Credit
- If you purchased hotel accommodations or transfers with Royal Caribbean, all charges will be automatically refunded.
- If you booked outside of Royal Caribbean, you will need to contact the company you booked through directly.
-
When opting to Lift & Shift
- If you purchased hotel accommodations or transfers with Royal Caribbean, these will be removed during the re-accommodation process, but can be re-added, if desired, once confirmed on the future ship/sailing of choice at prevailing rates.
- If you booked outside of Royal Caribbean, you will need to contact the company you booked through directly.
Lift & Shift blackout dates:
- Christmas, New Year’s, and Chinese New Year’s cruises are ineligible, unless you are currently confirmed on one of these sailings and wishes to take advantage of Lift & Shift to move to the same sailing next year (assuming all other qualifying criteria is met).
Will you be more willing to book a cruise because of this enhanced policy? What do you think of the Lift & Shift offer? Share your thoughts in the comments!
This is fantastic. I hope this is for real as I have a new cruise for the same time period next year.
Thanks

I had the Grand Suite on the first bump out next to the Centrum on deck 10 and it had the worst noise of any of my cruises. We no longer stay in any bump out. This was on the Radiance of the Seas (sister ship).

I have done this on all 8 cruises that we have been on and the menu is always different and the wines have been very good. The last cruise we were on (Navigator) they served a bottle of Caymus 2014 Special Selection which goes for about $240.00 on the ship. All the others were great also. On Navigator they served a Chocolate Martini as the dessert which was fantastic

Seeking advice about gratuities for cruise/land. Called RCL but rep didn't seem all that confident in her reply. In particular, how are gratuities determined for land portion? Thanks in advance for any advice.
My wife and I did the Land/Sea tour in Alaska. The tour guide and the bus driver were the only people that you would usually tip or the person dropping your luggage at your room each night. The amount you give is dependent upon what you want to give. We gave to the driver $5 per person per day and the tour guide was $7.50 per person per day. This may be high or low but it was what I felt they should receive. You will have more contact with the guide as they will be handing out papers to tell you what is going on the next day (tours) and you can ask them questions about the restaurants in the area.

We will be on Oasis of the Seas sailing out of Barcelona. Strange question but, what currency do they use in the onboard casino in the Mediterranean? I was planning to take US currency but wondered if I should get euros instead? I know I need euros at shore.
We did a cruise in June 2013 and it was USA dollars

Home lines charged for chairs, I would gladly pay for a chair(s) knowing it was mine and no one could use it.
Every cruise I went on with Home Lines we went and got our chair on embarkation Day. Now I really don't care where I sit as long as I can find a chair.

Hi,
We have free VOOM Surf and Stream as part of our RCL booking for 1 device.
I presume that means I can keep my device connected all day everyday?
but if I wanted to I could change from say my iPad to my phone by logging off the iPad and logging onto the phone?
Yes that is correct. just log off one and go on the other. My wife and I do that while we cruise!

thanks so much! it looks like something my kids would love! have any issues getting back to the ship on time?
They took us on the morning tour which ended by 1:00PM and took us and dropped us by the market just outside of the ship. We finished our day outside there by 2:30pm and went back on the ship. There is still more time that you can stay outside. Just check because we were on Jewel Of the Seas and the times can be different. Enjoy your cruise the Southern Caribbean is beautiful. We also went to the ABC island this past December so we have finally completed the Caribbean.

On St. Kitts we did Mad Max Dune Buggies. We drove around the whole island in a tour of 5 Dune Buggies and did a beach break. We had a fantastic time and the Dune Buggies were so much fun to drive. You can check them out on Trip Advisor. Have a great time we did this April 2018.

I was on the Jewel of the Seas this past April and I did not have one person ask or tell me about the survey.

It was a lot of fun on the Jewel. I ended up with one of the mobsters girlfriend on my lap for a few minutes. Needless to say a lot of people new me on the ship after that.

Springhill Suites. I am using them in December
-
They had this from last year in my cruise planner on the Jewel of the Seas for April 2018 they also have it for my cruise in December 18 and May of next year.
-
It is not Mandatory because it is included in the fee. This was the case for me on the Jewel as we did the 5 night Specialty Dinners. We did give more of a tip because the waiters were really good to us.
