  1. Thanks everyone for your replies, going to take the gladrags.
  2. My wife and I are on the Ruby out of Sydney next month sailing to Fiji and New Caledonia. We have been on Princess many times and have always participated in the Formal Nights, even in Australia and NZ. However it’s over three years since we have been ‘down under’ and have never been to these islands. What I would like to know is will passengers tend to participate in the Formal Night events, or should we leave our gladrags at home and go for a smart casual look. Would like to think that passengers still took the trouble to dress up but if the trend is otherwise will follow suit.
  3. We regularly go from the Premier Inn opposite Bolton Arena. We usually book in at the Premier Inn the night before and leave our car for the duration of the cruise. All they ask is that you make a donation to Great Ormand St. Children’s Hospital of about £20/£25 per week. In fact we are going from Bolton Arena this weekend. If you book into the Premier Inn early enough you can get a room for a very reasonable rate. The coach usually leaves about 8 to 8.30 am.
  4. We were on this cruise on the Arcadia in Sept. 2017 and it was 12.30 noon before we cleared immigration and we were not the last! Good luck.
  5. Good to hear, never liked sea screens on any ship. I would much rather watch a film indoors in more comfortable surroundings. The trouble with a ship having a sea screen is that the Entertainments Team felt they had to use it and were reluctant to use any other venue on the ship for the benefit of passengers who didn’t want to battle the elements, be it sun, wind or chilly days to watch a film or sport.:D
  6. Why do so many passengers stress about embarkation times. An hour or two doesn’t really make any difference over the length of the cruise. Our loyalty tier entitles us to the complimentary lunch, but as we usually travel down by coach we rarely make it in time. Just make sure you are there in plenty of time, take a book to read and await your turn to board, resulting in a stress free embarkation.
  7. Is anyone else having trouble with the P&O website. I don’t seem able to access the list of cruises available. It just says ‘view more cruises’ or words to that effect, but no list appears. Any thoughts anyone?
