  1. I am interested in opinions on comparing the Eclipse and Reflection ships - likes, dislikes, main differences, etc. We have been on the Reflection twice, (most recently in November 2023) and were very happy with it but I am now comparing 2 similar itineraries (8 or 9 days Caribbean in November 2024) and would like to know more about the Eclipse in comparison. TIA 😀
  2. What is the closest to sailing you have booked for a last minute cruise? Did you encounter any issues that made you regret booking so close to the sailing date? We aren't big excursion people so having limited options won't bother us but I am wondering what else (if anything?) might cause us extra stress and make it frustrating? (Looking at a itinerary that leaves in 5 days and flights are not an issue)
  3. Hi, just confirming, Obstructed Ocean View cabins on the Eurodam (deck 4 with tender and lifeboats in front) do not have glass windows/doors that can open, correct? I realize there is no balcony but just confirming that you can't open the door for fresh air. TIA.
  4. We recently booked a 7 day on the Reflection for November. At the time of our booking, we could only select the 8:30pm fixed dining time. We prefer Select/Anytime dining. Does anyone know - will it be possible to switch when we are onboard? TIA
  5. We stopped in Ketchikan on Aug 17th. We used Alaska Shore Excursions to book their "Black Bear & Wildlife Exploration, 3.25 hours, $250 pp, 11:30 - 2:45pm". They in turn used Kawanti Adventures for the tour to the Rainforest and Bear Walk. Normally I wouldn't typically suggest companies but in this case, we were very impressed with the tour. For context our previous 2 tours in Juneau and Icy Strait Point had been cancelled on us (due to heavy fog and other tour participant's ship delays). When we arrived in Ketchikan, we had to tender 'due to ship congestion' 🙄 . The tenders were very slow and backlogged so we were late getting to the tour meeting spot. We figured we were 3 for 3 with our tour luck, but by fluke I saw someone carrying a Kawanti sign. After explaining the tender delay, we we put on a different tour van and whisked away to the Rainforest. After a personal shortened safety briefing we were on our way on the tour walk. Within less than 2 minutes we caught up to our original tour group because they had stopped to look at this bear!! We saw 8 bears and cubs, an eagle and a banana slug (yep its a thing!) during our walk. The tour guides were wonderful and on our drive back we were let off at the end of Creek Street (optional) so we could walk around and make our way back to the ship. The tour was low intensity and an appropriate amount of time (not too long, not too short). Happy Planning!
  6. This week, we just booked a Nov 7 day and decided not to book All Inclusive. We do want to buy a wifi package and I am looking at the flash sale, however we do not need the Premium package, the Basic will do just fine. The flash sale doesn't show a Basic pkg price. Does anyone know how much basic wifi usually is? I did some one article that said any bookings after June 1, 2023 can no longer even get basic wifi but I am not seeing that on the Celebrity website so I am not sure if that is true? Does anyone have any tips or prices for me to use as a comparison to the Premium flash sale which is showing as $26.58 CAD/per day. TIA
  7. If your username and password are not working on the website, just try entering it a couple of times in a row.... that seems to work for me (I got that suggestion from another post and surprisingly it has worked so I don't have to keep going back to my booking number).
  8. We have a day and a half in Denali and we are considering going golfing there. We understand and can appreciate that the golf course will be very different to our normal places, but this would be more of a 'get to say we golfed in Alaska' kind of event for us 🙂 Having said that, I have a couple of questions - perhaps someone can share their experiences: - clubs, balls are included or can be rented/purchased? - is it expected that you wear proper golf shoes? (we really don't want to pack another pair of shoes just for a couple of hours but we were only planning on taking our runner style hikers) - our dates are Aug 9/10 - with it being only 9 holes how late do they offer tee offs (I am going to check the course website next, just thought I would ask here for experiences good/bad)? - any concerns with wildlife in the area later into the evening? - does this 'excursion' typically sell out - just wondering if we were to wait until the day to judge the weather, if we stand a chance at getting a tee time? Thanks so much!
  9. Ah, that explains it thank you! I was looking at this option, but our days in Denali (Aug 9 & 10 did not have any booking times available. I assumed that meant it was sold out but now I can see they don't actually start until later in August. Thank you for explaining that. https://alaskashoreexcursions.com/denali/aurora-quest
  10. Me too, since Saturday. Ended up calling in to the 1-800 for an unrelated question, mentioned it to the call centre person (who was lovely and helpful). She didn't know of an issue but checked my booking and felt because I didn't have a departure city saved to my booking that it would be related. She entered my city, told me to try again in 10 mins and it should work, which it did! Until the next day.... 😞 So clearly that wasn't the issue..... 🤣
  11. Hi, we are on a Princess land tour, so we will be at Denali for a day and half and trying to figure out what we should do for our 'free' day (Aug 10). My research of course has lead me to the Tundra Wilderness Tour or the Park Transit bus. Read quite a few reviews that the tour option has its faults with the length of the tour considering the space available on the bus size (cramped seating etc), limited viewing especially if other passengers are inconsiderate, hard to hear over passenger noise, etc. etc., so we are leaning to just doing the transit option on our own. I would be interested in hearing what other options were favourites among past visitors? The jeep driving tours, photography and Northern Light tours are sold out for our date, we are already doing a helicopter/glacier tour in Juneau, and a bear wildlife tour in Ketchikan. I feel like this really only leaves water rafting tours or the park in Denali but I am sure missing other unique ideas. Any and all suggestions including what tour companies you used would be welcome! TIA 🙂
  12. Thanks. Fair point, Hop On, Hop Off (we picked up the HoHo expression years ago and it just kinda stuck)
  13. Hi, the TWT is sold out on our scheduled day in Denali (Aug 10) so we are quite content to do the HoHo Bus by ourselves instead. Should we buy tickets in advance or is there usually plenty available to buy on the day of (so we can judge the weather etc.)? Just wondering if the HoHo busses completely sell out at times? TIA. 🙂
  14. Are you flying out of Vancouver or Seattle? We are not using ez-air. We have booked our own flights through Aeroplan leaving from Vancouver. We haven't been on a Princess cruise in quite a few years but they used to offer transfers for purchase during the cruise (with the disembarkation papers that come to your cabin), so our plan is to sign up for that on ship. Failing that we will get a taxi/uber when we disembark but we also have plenty of time before our flight so we can take that chance.
  15. Thank you all for you input, this is helpful. We tried doing a 'test' booking with Uber and it was showing it was 1 hour drive yesterday for $89 (which seemed surprisingly cheap to me!) but of course accidents and construction are very real unplanned possibilities to consider. Our flight would be on a Saturday at 1:15pm with Swoop so if we missed that one we wouldn't have another option that day and would need to stay over. My gut reaction was to stick with VAN but my hubby was trying to convince me that Abbotsford would easy peasy.... I think I will stick with my gut even if it costs us more 😄 Thanks again everyone!
  16. Hi, when we disembark in Vancouver, we have options to fly out from Vancouver International or Abbotsford International, with the later being much cheaper (by about $600). The cruise line does not offer transfers to Abbotsford, so I guess we would be looking at using Uber. Has anyone done this and would you do it that way again? Online it looks to be about 1 hour distance and approx. less than $100. TIA

  18. Thank you, that is exactly what I was hoping for, appreciate you sharing 🙂

  20. Thank you for that clear shot, everything I found was harder to tell. So by my calculation, Dolphin deck 9 should be the second one up and it looks to me that it is partially covered and partially open - a perfect mix!! 😄
  21. Hi, does anyone have a clear picture of the Aft view of the Majestic? I am trying to determine which balconies have coverage overhead or not. Specifically for Dolphin deck - I think it is partially covered but can't quite tell, perhaps it is fully exposed?? TIA.
  22. Thank you!! Will definitely look into Temsco!! Dogsleds on a glacier would be amazing!
  23. Excellent, thank you! I was sure they had a contact number but couldn't seem to find it for some reason! 😃
