  1. Get on Celebrity's emailing list for notices of special deals. Be careful about determining what deposits are refundable and nonrefundable if you book and want to make certain changes. Trying to reprice plus perks can be very confusing--good luck. Sometimes the extra charge for a perk can exceed its value--you need to do the calculations carefully. If you use a TA, you need to generally change reservations through them, although Celebrity let me do this once over the weekend when the TA's office was closed and I copied the TA by email.
  2. The refurbishment was terrific--almost like being on a new ship.
  3. As of two weeks ago, the vests were free. You pick them up on the side of the snorkel shack after you sign up. On the other hand, the snorkeling area in front of Chill Island's (greatly improved) beach was nowhere near as good as it used to be at "old" Coco Cay. Coral was mostly covered in sand, water was murky, and much fewer fish to see than in prior visits.
  4. That's a great idea--I'll have to try that next time.
  5. If you want a decent sized bathroom on the Majesty, you'll need to get a JS or above. The regular Oceanview rooms are the smallest OVs on RCI--the "Spacious OVs" on Deck 9 are more like a regular RCI OV.
  6. The Boathouse. Huge and crowded, but delicious food. If you and several other diners want to share an amazing dessert, get the Baked Alaska.
  7. It may be much cheaper and efficient if you rent a car instead of using RCI. It's a relatively easy and very well sign-posted drive, and you could go directly to Disney Springs, where you could easily spend several hours, especially if you eat there (some very good restaurants).
  8. Less chance of this on a cruise over 7 days, but anything is possible.
  9. Pizza used to be terrible on RCI--but it's got much better in the last couple of years in the Cafe Promenade. I do agree that Princess still makes better pizza.
  10. We took advantage of the UDP credit on the Navigator at Playmakers to get the pulled pork sliders (excellent) , the loaded potato skins (not good, served lukewarm and cheese was way too thin) and medium-hot buffalo chicken wings (worst I have ever had anywhere, tiny, not much meat, overcooked).
  11. My TA once cancelled my reservation by mistake (she fixed by booking the adjacent cabin at the same price + $50 OBC she added as my old one had already been snapped up), so it's definitely possible.
  12. We've just returned from a terrific Navigator cruise--our favorite way of spending a relaxing and fun weekend. The only negative to the cruise was the current status of the snorkeling area at Coco Cay's Chill Island, where we've been many times before. There used to be a large area beyond the rock barriers where there was plenty of coral and sea grass with numerous and many different kinds of fish. As of yesterday, either because of the effects of Hurricane Dorian, RCI's work on the island's beaches, or other reasons (depending upon whom you ask there) the coral with has now mostly been covered in sediment all the way out to the orange ball barriers with some sea grass poking through, and the number and types of fish are way down from before. Other snorkelers we spoke to had the same opinion. The snorkeling and swimming there is still fun and the Chill Island beach itself is very nice, but it's harder to see fish and there's not much coral to attract them. Hopefully, this situation will cure itself over time.
  13. We've stayed at the Campbell Street branch as well and highly recommend it. It's a short walk to Chinatown with lots of great places to eat, and quite close to the train to the airport and elsewhere and buses that take you all over the city. Prices seem to fluctuate a lot so keep checking.
