  1. Can anyone onboard Onward please tell me if the hairdryer is the same as on the other ships ie you have to hold down the switch when using ! I hope they bought some proper ones for the new ship & then I needn’t take my own in 2 weeks. Thank you in anticipation.
  2. She will indeed be missed by passenger and crew alike. Definitely the best hotel director we have ever met. A special human being. Good luck to her and kudos for grabbing the next opportunity sent her way.
  3. We just received an email from Azamara saying that Heike is leaving Azamara. I know that lots of us regular Azamara folks love her . Personally I have the utmost respect for a lady who is by far the best hotel director we have encountered on land or sea....and she is a lovely caring human being. I'm a bit worried about what this departure says...... I am starting this thread so folks can can comment in 1 place. Good luck Heike and we wish you every good wish for your future whatever it holds.
  4. We too are from UK and did this cruise on Azamara a few years ago. You need to get your own India Visa...I found it was a little bit of a challenge filling in the form but we got there !!! Did t again a couple of years later so didn't put us off lol We did not need to apply for Sri Lanka Visa.....I think Azamara did it. We don't need Visas for Dubai..normally visa on arrival is available for UK... or always has been on the numerous times we have flown in !! Go to visacentral to check as this info might be out of date now. Have a wonderful cruise, its a fabulous itinerary. Joyce
  5. Hi, like everyone else it’s a while since we enjoyed the Azamara experience…. Can anyone tell us if there is still a bottle of fizz in the cabin on embarkation ? I know there always used to be …just wondering if I need to bring our own! On 10th July Onward cruise & really looking forward to it with a glass half full attitude. Can’t wait to see what the Atlas Bar is really like..as we have $1000 OBC I’m sure we will sample it !
  6. I am certainly NOT looking for an argument ...but...you were replying to les37b...and I have to say that I agree with him. We too are in the UK and we too were given $1000 OBC , everything onboard is priced in $US, why not give us the balance in $US...its not like they are going to give is £££££ at the end of the cruise if we haven't spent the whole amount. We haven't sailed yet and are looking forward to our 11th Azamara experience in July.
  7. You should have received an ATOL certificate from your TA with the confirmation. Check your emails that there isn't an attachment at the bottom .
  8. I just checked our ATOL certificate….flights booked with Az..are with BA & Turkish. We are covered from the date we leave LHR until the date we get back. We too did it all through Azamara as TA said we would be covered. Hope we don’t have to test it !! So sorry you are having to unpack…I would . Be gutted.
  9. I recently put an offer in for upgrade from V1 to CC.... a weak bid !! If we get the upgrade do we get the speciality dining and other things that go with a CC ? I read the small print & couldn't find the answer. We have never put a bid in previously.
  10. Riocca, So pleased to hear you spent time…a lot by the sound of it lol…in the Atlas Bar. After all the angst about it I find it good to know you used it regularly. I’m sure it will be a great addition to the experience.
  11. I look forward to your observations. Stay safe . We will be onboard in July so very interested to hear folk's opinions onboard. Avoid deck 4.
  12. Its not Randox but testing available in T5 departures according to the website.
  13. I don't know where you are flying out from but...I know there are testing stations at Heathrow both in some of the terminals and also walk through ones. PCR & Lateral Flow. I assume the same at Gatwick. As we are in Cumbria the closest place is Newcastle (!) so are flying down from NCL to LHR and testing in NCL to get the 72 hours correct. Happy to do it but its added an extra bit of stress before we we even set off !!! lol
  14. LOL and I think that F & B manager might beTony ??? He owes it to us Brits to get some decent tonic onboard. I am sick of asking for it. This is the only thing that I would complain about on Az...hopefully by July when we come onboard it will be sorted......as Tony will be Hotel Director on Onward.
