  1. Great!, depending on the cruise line, my TA will offer OBC, instant discount or rebate check after I have sailed.
  2. @Ken the cruiser, as @smokeybandithas replied, on RC, you can use any OBC to pay/cover the daily gratuities UNLIKE NCL. I believe NCL also made change you cannot use OBC to buy Next Cruise deposits like I used to do, so essential you will have to SPEND as you probably also know, Casino use does not net against any OBC on NCL.
  3. Check the ‘sticky’ Princess Senior Ship Staff on page1 or a recent roll call or Live from, for the Crown and see if the Officers board was posted.
  4. Please review current thread ‘Silly Princess Service People’.
  5. @BeforeSunsetLemonade, did you try any of the ‘sides’ at The Catch. Last month on the Enchanted, the waiter brought ALL the side dishes. The fingerling potatoes were our favorite and the vegetable was Bok Choy. You also did not share what dishes your other half ordered? It has been my experience, most specialty restaurants will allow you to order multiple apps and desserts, so they would have brought you another, if the soufflé was not to your liking. I know they have minted berries with ice cream.
  6. @dns65, this is my recent experience with doing a refare of a flexible EZAir reservation, resulting in a credit balance on my booking. Some passengers have reported the credit card was refunded promptly, but for me the credit just sat in my booking for weeks. I called EZAir which is the number you will find in your travel summary if you have enroute delays. They kept telling me the refund was ‘in process’. Finally after my third call I said, someone needs to look at this as it has been ‘in process’ for 6 weeks. Finally my booking does not show the credit balance and I am hoping I see the credit on my credit card soon. I hope you do not have to go thru a similar scenario. For peace of mind, I would call EZAir to verify they have initiated the refund to your credit card or method of payment you used.
  7. @Rick&Jeannie, you DO need to be a member of AARP to purchase Celebrity or Royal Caribbean gift cards. They are considered a Premium product and you can now buy up to 25 per month. Currently Princess gift cards do NOT require AARP membership, just a AARP rewards account and have 5 per month limit. @TGfromTX, you should be aware of the processing time required by Celebrity if you want to use gift cards, as you or your travel agent will need to forward the gift card images to them at least 10 business days before final payment. With Celebrity and Royal Caribbean gift cards, you cannot use partial amount of gift card. Say you have a balance due of $578. You can use one $500 gift card, but if you use a $100 gift card for the $78 balance, you will lose $22 value as no remaining balances will apply. Also unlike Princess gift cards, you cannot use on board to apply to your on board folio.
  8. I purchased 2 book later deposits November 2023 and the stipulation was you needed to book within 6 months to receive the bonus OBC, but still had 1 year to use, else it was refunded. Believe on 1/1/24, book later deposits are now non refundable and have to be used on non refundable deposit future bookings. You will lose if not used. Still need to book within 6 months to receive OBC.
  9. On Princess, pre cruise, OBC can only be used to book shore excursions. If you need help in ‘getting back’ your OBC in cash, see other threads, hint Casino. Princess OBC can be used towards daily gratuities, unlike some other cruise lines.
  10. @YVRteacher, I do not think Princess posts the separate vegetarian menu with the regular MDR menus, so before you decide not to dine in the MDR, see if you can peruse that evenings vegetarian menu before you decide to go to the buffet.
  11. No, status does NOT expire with Princess. MSC requires you to sail at least once every 3 or 4 years, if you do not, you revert back to being a newbie. I thought Disney also something regarding sailing at least every 5 years?
  12. You used to be able to get the recipe card if you ordered one of the cocktails and Princess would award you a ‘Good Spirits’ T shirt if you collected them all. This program has been discontinued, but some ships still have a supply of the recipe cards and if they do, asking nicely can result in acquisition.
  13. Most Production shows should be around 45 minutes. Some have been amended for a ‘short’ version for various reasons and the short version will be performed. Sometimes the show will also be amended because of an injury or illness of one or more performers. I know the show with the Cyndi Lauper song True Colors, this song was eliminated because supposedly there was backlash regarding non Asian Dancers dressed in Kimonos.
  14. Yes, on many other Princess ships, this venue is called SaltyDog Grill, not to be confused with Casual dining venue SaltyDog Gastropub on some other ships. SaltyDog Gastropub on Discovery was recently converted to O’Malley’s. Believe Ruby and Emerald still have Gastropub in an area of Wheelhouse Lounge serving dinner. Menu items of ‘grill’ usually are hot dogs, burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches , nachos, street tacos, and of course fries.
  15. @BeforeSunsetLemonade, did you not know or desire a ‘sit down’ lunch in the Ketchikan dining room from 11:30-1pm? The embarkation lunch menu is unique and the only day Orange Soufflé is offered. Many passengers make this a not to miss opportunity if arriving to ship early enough.
  16. Capacity controls can come bite you if you wait to buy Premier on Day1 on short cruises. It has been reported before, Premier was ‘sold out’ and passenger not allowed to buy on Day1 because specialty dining venues were all booked. Passenger reported they would waive right to specialty dinners as they just wanted the higher priced drinks and were still denied. YMMV.
  17. @richstowe, I had a similar situation after refaring an EZAir flight, recently. Got the same , it is in process, please wait 10-15 business days. After 1 month, I called again and was told to still wait, it is still in process. I said no it has been in process too long. Finally transferred to someone who promised to keeps tabs and said it was finally submitted for refund back to my credit card. I noticed the next day, the credit finally disappeared on the Princess payments page, so assume it should appear in my credit card statement soon. Unfortunately, this seems to be the ‘normal’ for EZAir re fare refunds.
  18. Yes, rumor has it as the most ordered Margarita on Princess.
  19. @YVRteacher, enjoying your ‘live’. FYI, it has been within the last year, Princess revised the display of Names on the door panel from your First AND Last name and now displays only last name initial. Imagine before the electronic door panel, small paper tags with color of your loyalty tier and name were produced for each cruise and had to be manually inserted into the door slot. I have been told the door panel is actually an iPad like device and the camera is active for security. As noted in previous posts, you can have info removed from door panel. The Princess ‘tote’ bag in your closet is not cloth, pretty sure made from recycled plastic. It will disintegrate if exposed to sunlight over a prolonged period. They were recently reintroduced after being dropped with the restart. One cabin steward told me, so many are left to be discarded at the end of each sailing. I will venture a guess as to why the APP will not work, is it related to version of operating system or model of your phone? Princess knows certain phones and operating systems are incompatible.
  20. @Tom and Ingrid, I just attained Elite+, so in addition to Cafe AL Bacio drinks, I am looking forward to 240 internet minutes from 90, and 2 bags instead of 1 laundry, in addition of 1 free fitness class.
  21. @TGfromTX, Celebrity gift cards are usually available thru AARP. You MUST be a member to buy the Celebrity gift cards. Once you login to AARP, you usually have to click pull down menu and select ‘rewards’, look for 3 lines in upper right corner to click. Once you click rewards, another menu selection requires you to click ‘redeem’, there you can then scroll to find the Celebrity gift cards and add to your cart then check out. AARP does offer some gift cards where you to not need to be a member, but you do need to setup a AARP rewards account.
  22. You have your ships mixed up. Sapphire does not have Adagio. The Ship’s band/Orchestra may do sets in Wheelhouse or Explorers depending on what other entertainment the Entertainment Director has planned and booked for your sailing.
  23. @PandaBear62, I do not think you looked where I suggested to see about the cruise credits? You need to login to your Princess account, click on my account, click on cruise history. There you will probably see your ‘future sailing’ and it will show 2 credits, even though you booked this as ONE cruise. Almost all cruises that can be sold as separate smaller ‘segments’ or ONE long cruise, passengers will be credited for each cruise segment. If you are pretty sure dropping Plus is what you want, pretty sure you need to cancel and rebook cruise under ‘standard’ fare. Please call Princess or your TA to verify.
  24. I was on Enchanted 5/4-18/24 and 5/15-29/24 and Amalfi the deck6 AFT dining room is being used for Breakfast and Sea day lunch. Believe many Royal class ships have made this change, keeping Reserve Class in midship deck 6 port side dining room area.
