We really like the stritzel, otherwise called fruit bread. It is a loaf bread with cranberries, raisins, almonds and often specialty sugar on top. Don’t think I spelled it right….

Think you might be referring to their streusel or strudel bread.  I love that and just returned from Allure. Had it for breakfast each day in the MDR. It’s almost raisin bread but has more fruit, especially cranberries, almonds and orange. Excellent!  Our waiter referred to it as cranberry bread.

Liberty doesnt even have  soda machine.

I often ask for a can, otherwise they just give you a glass of whatever. I want the whole can.

Drink packages do not include canned soda. You may find an occasional bartender who may give a can, but all packages specify fountain soda or freestyle machine soda.

As a Diamond plus, we get 5 daily drinks automatically.  But, I am taking my brother on his 1st cruise.  If he buys a drink package will I need to buy another package for me?  I can't even drink the 5 free ones I already drink, and I don't drink coffee or sodas at all. Wondering if my 5 drink package counts as a drink package or exempts me from having to buy another full drink package?

If he is sharing your cabin and buys the deluxe alcoholic package you will have to purchase the refreshment package.  Refreshment package includes soda, bottled water, specialty coffee, smoothies, virgin drinks,  fresh squeezed juice and more. Your five free drinks are not a package. You could have him just purchase his drinks individually.   Don’t forget you can use your free drinks for bottled water to take on excursions - they don’t have to be five alcoholic drinks.

We just sailed on Navigator with our two granddaughters (9 & 7).  They combined them into one group as there weren't a lot in one group or the other (not sure which age was under-represented).  Only thing I didn't like was they would let the nine year old sign herself out.

You can tell the staff that she is not allowed to sign herself out.

I need a sharps container in my stateroom every cruise. My TA requests it on our reservation but on the odd occasion it hasn’t been in the room, we just ask our stateroom attendant and they take care of it for me. Easy peasy.

As for the fridge, every room we have stayed in there has been a fridge. Is that not standard (honest question)?!

cabins have a cooler - it’s not a fridge. Coolers are meant to keep soda/wine chilled, etc.  they are not a true fridge. One reason they are not recommended for milk. If you need a fridge for medical purposes the Special Needs Department can assist.

My understanding is there is a nursery on all ships for the under 3's but it is not a drop and leave. It's more of a play area.  But I've never cruise when my children were under 3 so that's just what I've been told by other passengers.  They used to have babysitting for that age but not all ships have it.  On the Anthem in March I remember talking to a parent saying it wasn't offered because they didn't have enough staff.  I'm pretty sure the in-room babysitting is completely gone now but maybe someone else will know 100%.

The 4 year would not be with the 2 year old as the 4 year old would be in Adventure Ocean.  Which is free until 10pm and then around $10 a hour until midnight.

There used to be in-room babysitting.  Staff looking to earn extra money. They used to send staff in pairs to babysit, even if only one child. This was discontinued several years ago (way before Covid).

  7. If you tell your dining room waiters they will bring a dessert with a candle and sing happy birthday. No additional charge.

If you want something more elaborate, you can order a birthday cake (full cake) and they will bring with candles and sing.  There is a fee for the cake.

  8. Deepest sympathy on your loss.

My husband passed away suddenly and we had a cruise planned in approximately 6 months.

I decided to go on the trip.  When I called RC to cancel his reservation and switch to a solo trip, they were exceedingly kind and compassionate.  I did speak with the Crown and Anchor representative, not the general number.  I was prepared to send a copy of the death certificate, but he said no need - he found the obituary on line.

I assumed the reservation would be more expensive - the agent said no. He canceled my husband, refunded all monies, and left my price as it had been with no solo charge. He even gave me my husband’s military discount.

Needless to say, I was very grateful. I went on the cruise solo, and have cruised solo since then. One reason that I am “loyal to Royal.”  They were very kind and compassionate. This was 8 years ago.

  9. Very sorry this happened to you but I noticed that you were asked if you submitted the appropriate paperwork for a handicapped cabin and you didn’t really answer.  If you just booked the cabin for convenience, without documentation, then I think RC can move you. You definitely need to contact Mr. Bayley’s office with documentation that you provided at booking.

  10. Coco Cay and Labadee are RC private locations, so I would assume that they follow the ship’s drinking age of 21.

When you are on shore in the Bahamas and Jamaica it doesn’t appear that local bars/restaurants have a drinking age  -  it’s probably 18 - but they don’t bother much.

Few years back I requested extension cord cpap and had to give $15.00 deposit and get in at front desk.  I never returned it on last day as it was so rushed and extremely long lines. So I got this great extension cord for $15.00 I keep it in my cpap travel bag and only use it if needed and definitely need it on cruise!!! Best $15. I ever spent!!

Never known RC ask for a deposit on extension cords. Be prepared to have your personal cord confiscated. Extension cords are on the list of banned items on RC.
