  1. This is a review of our recently Celebrity cruise. This was our fourth cruise with them, and the first since Covid. It was an eight day cruise on Celebrity Reflection out of Fort Lauderdale.

First the negative portion of the trip. I will say that none of these negatives would stop us from cruising again with Celebrity and/or on the Reflection.

The first negative was with the Lawn Club Grill. We signed up for the special deal on the first night of the cruise. Unfortunately we had the late (8:30pm) slot. Only about six tables had people eating at them so it was not busy. However the staff were not vary attentive. We had to call them over to order a drink and they never refilled our water glasses. It was suppose to be all you can eat, but we were never offered a chance to have more. It was a little disappointing, but we also realized it was turn over day for them and they were most likely tired. So we learned. I will say the steak was good and we did enjoy the food.

Negative number two was a true PIA. Seriously Celebrity, you shouldn't purchase your toilet paper from the sand paper section of the local Home Depot. Find another source. I know you have to be careful about what goes into your system but there has to be better stuff out there. Find it.

Positives. And the reasons why we enjoy sailing with Celebrity.

First it appeared there were more (with the exception stated above) waiters/waitresses walking around taking drink orders at the pools, bars, and the Oceanview then I remember.

Second is the staff were very friendly and always seemed to be in good spirits. Always very respectful and very courteous.

Third, the Martini bar. Spot on. They are the show to see on Celebrity. I don't know if other cruise lines have a bar with this level of entertainment, but I doubt they do. They are truly a pleasure to watch.

Well that's all folks. Like I said, the negatives were not enough to stop us from using Celebrity again, and the positives will keep us coming back.

  2. We did a NB cruisetour June of this year. There were about 30-35 people on ours. The four of us boarded last and we had the last 4 rows to ourselves. Able to spread out and one of the rows had extra leg room. Not sure about the distilled water.  Talk to your tour director when you meet them. Ours was fantastic and I'm sure they can help you out. Not sure when they will finalize the hotels. I can tell you the land tour is not run by Celebrity. They use another company for that. Have a good cruise.

I'm on a B2B2B booked since December 2017 and paid in full the 3 legs. Ship Celebrity Eclipse

1st Leg Sept 22 Vancouver to Honolulu

2nd Leg Oct 3 Honolulu to Vancouver

3rd Leg Oct 13 Vancouver to Los Angeles

My TA just receive a email from Celebrity with a note that the Jones's law is violated.

This is the head of the email

I hope you are very well in your daily work, the reason for this email is to notify you that bk 3rd leg is violating Jones law, because passengers would be arriving from Honolulu in bk bk 2nd leg on October 13, and that same would be leaving for Los Angeles, California. Because the cruise ship would be sailing from a port that belongs to another country, that's when Jones's law is violated. etc etc-

They are not taking into account the first leg, Why do they do this to me after 2 years of having booked my vacations and have already paid 100% of the 3 cruises?

Just a suggestion, Celebrity Cruises President and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo will be checking in periodically on the Celebrity forum to answer questions. Why not ask your question there as well and ask for a name and number of someone at Celebrity to discuss this matter with.

    Good luck.

I was reading on the X website that the mobile app supports live chat between passengers on the ship. Has anyone used this feature yet, more specifically used it on the Millie? I am asking to see if this is a feature that is being rolled out to the whole fleet as they complete their "Edgeafacation". We have a cruise coming up in November on the Summit which is still in drydock and will be a group of 10 people. If this works (unlike the X website) I feel this will be a great way to keep in touch with the members of our group.

According to this thread it does not appear to be available on the Millie.

  5. This sounds like our first cruise. We went to Bermuda and had also scheduled a glass bottom boat excursion. About a week out the weather showed rain everyday. Major disappointment. We pulled out of Baltimore and it was pouring. The next day we woke up to a sunny sky. The weather could not have been nicer. It was a little overcast the morning we took the boat taxi across the water, but by lunch time it was sunny.  We had great weather. Don't worry about the weather forecast, most likely they'll be wrong.  And if it does rain, it should be a passing shower.

  6. We are booked for an Alaska cruisetour with Celebrity this June. The land tour includes a full day in Denali with the Natural History Tour. We are thinking about up grading to the Tundra Wilderness Tour. Not sure what the difference is as Celebrity's website does not give too many details. About the only thing our TA could get from Celebrity was that we can upgrade with our tour guide once we disembark from the ship. I'm worried if we wait til then to upgrade the Tundra Wilderness Tour could be sold out. Any input as to what to expect on theses tours from someone who has done one or both tours would be appreciated. Upgrade would be cheaper, but we don't mind paying full price now and just book the Tundra tour if there is that much difference. Thanks for your input. Primary reason is to see wildlife, in particular bears and wolves.

  7. We recently did a 5 night cruise on the Celebrity Infinity out of Port Everglades. Cruise was great, but this is a question about Customs. We purchased about $75 of stuff on the ship and about $100 in port (no alcohol or tobacco purchases). When we disembarked we never filled out a Customs Declaration form.We picked up our luggage and only showed our passport to the official as though he was immigration and not customs. He never asked us about any purchases we had made. Have things changed since we last cruised. It has been a while, but we always filled out Customs Declaration form when we returned from past cruises.

    Thanks

  8. Things I enjoy most about taking a cruise are:

    1. Arriving at the port and seeing the ship for the first time.

    2. Stepping on board the ship and soaking in the enormity of the ship.

    3. Ordering a glass of orange juice for breakfast the first sea day, making mimosas on the balcony and just watching the water go by.

  9. My wife and I did the Vancouver to Hawaii cruise in Sept of 2016. Five days at sea followed by five days around the islands. None of the venues on the ship (Celebrity Solstice) ever seemed crowded. I wasn't concerned about crowds as much as having five straight days at sea. Celebrity did a good job of having many options of activities both during the day and at night. If you do one of the two cruises you mentioned, you should join the Celebrity Connections roll call. Being a longer cruise it should be quite active and you can meet some nice people and plan things to do on those sea days as well as after hitting the islands. Good luck.

Still trying to convince the wife to cruise to Australia.

  10. We were on the Solstice for a Hawaii cruise (Vancouver to Honolulu) with five days at sea. We were never bored. Met some wonderful people on the roll call for the cruise and spent most of the time hanging out. Usually met at the Martini Bar (bartenders there were an entertainment by themselves), around 8PM and planned the rest of the evening. There were music themed nights like Motown we would go to or other themed music nights. Sometimes went to the casino, or took in a show. There are plenty of activities to do so you should not get bored.

  11. Curious. What were the ingredients in the 20 year martini?

    Here ya go:

    Celebrity Cruises 20th-Anniversary Martini Recipe

    Ingredients:

2 ounces Grey Goose pear vodka

    1 ounce Brut Champagne

    ¾ ounce lime juice

    ¾ ounce Dainzu rose-flavored syrup

    Ginger passion foam

    3 sage leaves

    Special Tools:

You’ll need a cream whipper, like this iSi mini whipper sold at Williams-Sonoma.com.

    Directions:

Pour all ingredients except the Champagne into a cocktail shaker with ice, and shake. Pour the Champagne into the shaker and strain into a martini glass.

Fill the mini whipper with the foam. Garnish your cocktail with a swirl of pink froth, and top it with a sage leaf.

    Enjoy.

  12. October 28th has to be wrong. I just booked that date yesterday. Wouldn't they have stopped selling cabins? If they cancel your cruise do you get anything when you rebook or are you just out of luck?

Sent from my SM-N950U using Forums mobile app

Wondering the same thing as we are booked for a Nov 5, 2018 cruise.

  13. Hope it is a short term dry dock as we have a cruise booked for November 5, 2018 on this ship.

If there is a planned dry dock on Oct 28, 2018, why would Celebrity still be offering a cruise on that date?
