  1. Has anyone cruised on the Magic since it has moved to Fort Lauderdale? If so, what was your experience with debarkation? Really interested in knowing how quickly priority cruisers were off the ship.
  2. Our cruise is ending in Port Everglades and the time for disembarkation is 8:00AM. There is a flight i would like to take out of Miami at 12h15. Is it too tight? First time I have a cruise disembarking so late. Thanks.
  3. FTTF is available this morning. It had been sold out for months. I snagged one this morning.
  4. I love hearing diverse opinions about cruise ships before we sail on them. There are things I love about every cruise line I've sailed and each ship in particular. My first cruise ever was on the Breeze early this decade, before it had Alchemy. My second cruise was on a smaller Carnival ship that had an Alchemy - my wife, a decades long cruiser, immediately fell in love with that bar. I think it's her favorite thing about Carnival currently. One of my favorite things on any cruise line is attending the art auctions on sea days...I'm FASCINATED by how much some people buy/spend and what they select. What's your favorite thing on the Magic?
  5. We are trying to choose our Jan. 2020 cruise. We are trying to choose between 6 Days on Magic or Horizon. Would love some feed back from those who have been on either or both. Here are the details. Horizon Spa Interior 6 day out of Miami stops in Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Magic Spa Interior 6 day out of Fort Lauderdale. Stops in Nassau, Amber Cove & Grand Turks We have never been on a Vista class ship but have been to Cozumel & Grand Cayman several times. In contrast we have been on the Dream but have never been to Nassau or Amber Cove. What would your preference be and why? Also how are the spa amenities on each of the ships? Is the Horizon much better?
  6. Upgraded to spa balcony on our upcoming Magic cruise. We will have 4 people in cabin so we will appreciate the ability to use the spa showers to cut down on the congestion in the cabin if we all need to get ready at once. How many showers are available in the spa? Are they usually more in demand at certain times? I imagine sea days are busier. Do do we have to wear spa bracelets/wristbands the entire cruise? Is it a pain to just dip into the spa area for a short time then pop out again for a drink and re-enter? Can we choose which 2 of the 4 cabin occupants get spa access? (Website states “first two booked”) I hope the upgrade is worth it. Have never had a cabin in this ultra-high, ultra-forward location before. Any help/tips are appreciated. Thanks:)
  7. Booked this cabin for the wife and I have noticed it is under the theater. Has anyone ever stayed in this cabin? Any info about staying in this cabin would be appreciated.
  8. Has anyone been in an L shape cabin on the magic before if so what is it like
  9. Good day - looking for some feedback from those who have been on Carnival Magic Deck 6. With two large teenage boys we have started booking connecting inside cabins for the extra space and washroom. Connecting insides seem to be scarce on the Magic. We’ve booked interior cabins 6377 and 6379 which appear to be above the casino and casino bar. The post I’ve found via the search function seem to primarily discuss cabins above the theatre or balcony’s. Would love tohear from past cruisers who sailed in the vicinity of these cabins and their thoughts with respect to noise. Thanks in advance.
  10. Looking for any recent opinions on the Wifi aboard the Magic ?
  11. Overall, we (my husband and I and my daughter and her boyfriend) had a great time. This was a 6 night cruise beginning in Fort Lauderdale with stops at Half Moon Cay, Amber Cove and Grand Turk. Our last cruise was on the Disney Dream in 2011. Prior to that we had gone on 1, 7 day Princess cruise to the Western Caribbean. The Ship/Activities:The CD, MarQ, was very entertaining. The ship was clean and we saw staff cleaning the common areas throughout the week. Our cabin was perfect (other than some really loud neighbors who liked to congregate in the hall between 2-4 a.m.). Very comfy bed, hot shower, air conditioning worked well. We had a balcony and my daughter had an inside cabin. We played Bingo, saw the Love and Marriage Show, 2 comedy shows, went to Quest, watched 1 Dive-In movie, played trivia, went to the MarQ's farewell and 90's Trivia party which was a lot of fun. We had a good time at everything. Food:We had your time dining - used the HUB app to reserve a table and there was never really a wait of any kind. By the time we got to the dining room our table was ready. Dining room food was good - one of the elegant nights filet mignon was on the menu. We ate at Guy's Burgers a couple of times - good but greasy. Didn't love the buffet but we don't care for buffet's anyway. Nothing really wrong with it, but way better on Disney (which you definitely pay for). We ate at the Italian restaurant and it was tasty. The 24 hour pizza was a hit with all of us. There was a line at times but it moved quickly. Ports/Excursions: Loved the beach at Half Moon Cay. The water was super clear and calm. Enjoyed just relaxing. BBQ lunch was provided - chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, fruit, brownies and a bunch of different type salads. We took a private excursion at Amber Cove to the Damajagua Waterfalls through Iguana Mama. We had 12 people in our group and they took excellent care of us. We did the 12 waterfalls trip and afterward they provided lunch (and rum & coke). Highly recommend Iguana Mama. We did another private excursion on Grand Turk with Humpback Dive Shack. Also had a great experience. First stop was snorkeling with sting rays and then we snorkeled at a nearby reef (not the wall). We saw a lot of colorful fish and really enjoyed it. Loved that they are environmentally friendly - the captain turned the boat around to pick up a floating balloon and they also don't touch the sting rays or feed them (which is apparently illegal there). The water at Grand Turk was amazing. After our excursion, we walked down to Jack's Shack for lunch and rented 2 umbrellas for the afternoon ($10 each for the umbrellas, the chairs are free). You can also rent floats for $10 for the day. We had a really good time on the cruise. Almost all of the Carnival employees we encountered were very friendly. We definitely got our money's worth. If you have any questions let me know!
  12. Anyone know what time Magic sails tonight?
  13. If anyone wants to watch the Carnival Magic coming into her new port at Port Everglades... https://www.portevergladeswebcam.com/
  14. Hi on magic in September and want to email to reserve a table for dinner, anybody got the correct email address? Keep searching and it says I can book via my online planner but because we are booked via carnival UK this is not possible. Thanks
  15. We are trying to decide between Carnival Magic and NCL Breakaway. We have been on several cruises but have not been on either of these ships. Family of 5 with 3 teenage boys 18, 16 and 16. They don't really do anything with the teen clubs so not a priority. Mostly play bball when onboard. Itineraries are pretty much the same so really looking for differences in the ship. TIA!
  16. Hello, Trying to figure out when the Captain's dinner would take place? 8 day cruise, 3 sea days. 1 sea day is 4 day of the cruise 2 seas day the last 2 days of the cruise. I'm thinking it would be that 1st sea day? Does any one know or have the last week's Magic Fun times. Cruise date is 5/25 Thanks
  17. Hello all. Just got back from the Magic. Not going to due a full review as there are already so many out there. Just pointing out a couple of things to share. Embarkation. So, this is our 5th cruise with Carnival, and our first in the last few years. It's probably noted somewhere on here, but there is a change here. We got there on time, go through security, and this time they take pics of the kids right at the main security entrance. After that, they put a check on our boarding pass, and move to the x-rays. Then, we make our way to the holding area, that we just wait with our assigned boarding number. Here is where I was a little confused. We use to have to go through that long line to get to the counter with like 45 agents waiting to check you in, and give you your S&S card. Nope. Now days, you just go to your cabin after the doors open at 1:30. At that point they put your S&S card in your outside mailbox. Not sure I'm really a fan of that. What's stopping someone from just taking it and going into your room? Anyway, just my 2 cents on that. The boat. We have cruised in room 2258 2 times on the Breeze so no real surprises here. Picked 2258 again on the Magic. We like the location just down from the main lobby. We enjoy this class of ship. It's just right for us. On a couple of excursions not with Carnival, we noticed several passengers from the other Mega Ships that were in port that were not happy at all. Apparently you need to make reservations even just for the after dinner shows? No thank you. We turned Gold on our last cruise. Seemed like every day they were brining us some kind of treat such as a fruit plate, candies, Strawberries and such. We didn't receive anything like that this time, just the standard things that come with Gold. I'm not complaining, just pointing that out. Was not sure that would last or not. :-) Food. Again, not much changed here. There was one new restaurant we tried, the Sea Food Shack. I actually had really high hopes for this. Lobster Rolls are not something you can get in my area. I'll be honest, they were just OK. Lots of Mayo to make up for little lobster. They were OK, but would not order them again. My daughter got the fish and chips for $8. Again, OK but nothing to write home about. Debarkation. Holy cow did this take FOREVER. We had a late flight out of FFL so I figured we would do a day-stay at a FFL hotel. So, we left our baggage out that night and I took luggage zone 29. I figured we could make it off the ship around 9 to 10ish? My mistake there. We did not get off the boat to 11:15. I wont make that mistake again. CD - MarQ. I did like him. Lots of energy, very friendly. Would be happy to sail with him again. Over all - very happy again with Carnival. We really enjoy the ports more than the boat. Seriously thinking about taking the carnival fascination next year out of San Juan. The itinerary for that is really hard to beat.
  18. Hi there!! Looking for a little input/advice/thoughts from those of you who have sailed on Magic and.or Horizon. I am planning my 40th Birthday cruise, Ill be cruising with my mom and 4 year old daughter. The two sailings I am look at are for 5/2/2020, Magic is doing an 8 day So. Caribbean to Curacao, Aruba, Half Moon Cay and Grand Turk. Horizon has an 8 day So. Caribbean with stops to Curacao, Aruba and Bonaire. HELP!! Which ship would you book with?? What are your pros and cons with the Magic v Horizon??? I've only ever sailed on fantasy class ships like 5,000 years ago and have no experience sailing on the Dream or Vista class ships, though, I am booked on the Panorama for 2/2020 and booked an aft extended balcony in the Harbor Family area. Thank you!!
  19. I have a choice for an 8 night cruise. Itineraries are very similar with the differences being Half Moon Cay for Magic and La Romana for Horizon. I have been on the Horizon..... My biggest concern with the Magic is I have read about A/C and mold issues.....any one with recent experience with that?
  20. I thinking of a cruise on Magic in December. I'm wondering, if it has been refurbished. If not, is it scheduled to be?

  22. Here is a video on our YouTube channel that shows different areas on the ship.
  23. I was looking at the Magic floor plans and it shows a Seafood Shack, I didn't think there was one on this ship. Does anyone that has sailed on the Magic tell me if there is one. Thanks for any info
  24. We are planning a back-2-back cruise on the Carnival Magic and have the option of a deluxe ocean view midship OR a cove balcony aft. We've cruised on the Magic a couple times already but had a traditional balcony. I've never booked a cove balcony before and need the pros and cons. The deluxe ocean view is enticing with the extra shower/bathroom space, but i do love having the balcony option and being able to step right outside to see the ocean or sit and read a book from the comfort of your own cabin. However, I am concerned about the location of the cove balconies that are left and available for both cruises without switching rooms. The only ones left are not only aft ship, but also directly beneath the galley. I am concerned about noise from both the ship's engines and from the galley with food preparation and movement in the early morning. We are night owls and while we do not sleep in super late, we normally wake around 9:30am. One of the specific cabins on the Magic we are looking at is the cove #2405 and deluxe #2240. Any recommendations you could give and pros and cons of the cove (with the location in mind) and deluxe OV would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
  25. On May 5 these two ships are switching ports. Magic from MIA to FLL & Conquest from FLL to MIA. Both ships leave at 9pm on 5-5-19. Can anyone tell me about their experience or does anyone have knowledge of how embark day will be. I have received a 4:30pm-5pm time for arrival at FLL(Magic). Will rooms be ready? What time will each ship reach its new port? My biggest question, what would be the earliest we should head over to the port. I am going to try to get a late check out from the hotel but if lucky that will be 1pm. I would appreciate any suggestion or thoughts as I don't know what to expect. Thanks friends!
