  1. When we were on the Coral Princess last year they had Alfredos pizza for lunch at Sabatinnis on one of the sea days. Anyone know if the Star also does this? Thanks.
  2. I am wanting to find out which MDR on the Ruby Princess is used on Sea Days for lunch? Of course we could wait until we board but looking at organising a luncheon after our Meet and Greet. We have quite a lot of interest. In 2010 on the Diamond Princess and then 2011 on the Celebrity Century we had such good numbers we had lunch in a separate MDR. Maybe we can again.
  3. Hello, I am taking my elderly parents on a cruise and I am just hoping someone is able to clarify that Mini Suite B428 on the Sea Princess has both a separate walk in shower stall and a separate bath? I just need to confirm as my parents can only use a walk in shower. They don't need an accessible room, but just need a walk in show. The description says Tub/Shower and I just want to make sure it is not a shower over the tub you have to climb in to. I would be grateful for any assistance. Cheers,
  4. What is the Princess cost (assume per minute) to use your cell/mobile phone for voice or text while at sea? For clarity this is not an internet questions but a ship cell tower question. Searched CC without success. Safe Travels to All. Thanks,
  5. We have booked a mini suite but have not been assigned a cabin yet. Are there any mini suites under the sky walk?
  6. Getting ready for an Alaskan cruise on the Grand and would like recommendations on the best indoor areas on the ship that have great views. I loved Skywalkers on the CB, but the Grand doesn't have that lounge. I like a comfy, quiet area that I can go to enjoy the sea views without being cold. Thanks!
  7. I know it could possibly vary by weather/wind, but normally will the Promenade Deck typically have lounge chairs on it? Have been wait listed for a while for a Balcony on a TA next July but an Ocean View has opened up. If you can typically sit on the Promenade, that would probably work for us.
  8. Sky Princess has left the construction dock and it looks like she's headed out for sea trials! Maybe we will get some more photos.
  9. Heading onto Ruby Princess soon. Does the Princess@Sea service work well on cell phones or should I bring walkie-talkies?
  10. Ok you long term cruisers - Please help me? I need to learn about the back to back experience. We have been cruising regularly for 15 years but we have never done a back to back trip. We are very excited to have just booked a B2B Down Under for 21 days total in 2020!! I was careful to book the same cabin for both cruises and I was wondering if we will have to settle our account and start fresh for the second cruise and will we have to go through the whole Embarkation again to get new key cards, photos etc? Tell me about "turn around day" all you long cruise lovers! Thanks from Alaska!
  11. Wondering if there is likely to be much loud noise filtering down from kitchen/buffet above on Lido deck. I image there would be some at meal times mainly?
  12. We are on the Coral in November sailing from San Francisco and have chosen the port side on our balcony in order to see the mainland while coming into port. Our travel agent said that 99% of the time the starboard side will anchor where the passengers get off. Would like to hear comments.
  13. I have a friend sailing from UK to Brisbane Australia on Sea Princess and she was due in to Curaçao today. Last night the Captain announced they had received a Mayday from a ship in trouble somewhere between Cuba and Jamaica. The crew from the ship in distress had to abandon as the vessel was sinking and they had to use life rafts, my friend is used to cruising but she said the seas were quite high/rough. The life rafts were located and crew rescued, however the visit to Curaçao has.to be considerably shortened due to the Panama Canal time slot. They have called at Curaçao to refuel and collect supplies If this has already been posted sorry for the duplication but thought it was worth posting

  15. We are booked on a 10 day Alaska cruise next May, and I have been having some concerns about what the heck to do with 6 Sea Days? No problem with the day we cruise the glaciers. But, I'm concerned that I can only take so much bingo and trivia contests. Love to read, nap, eat, and drink wine, but are there any other ship events or offerings to occupy oneself? Please don't suggest water skiing off the fantail, or logging miles walking around the promenade deck. Seriously, any thoughts?suggestions will be appreciated.
  16. Does anyone have experience requesting a handicap room for hotels they have stayed at on a Princess Land and Sea package. We will be staying at hotels in Ireland. Appreciate any advice you may offer. Thanks
  17. Hello from the Queen Elizabeth! This morning (23rd July 2019 )we passed Sea Princess as she was sailing from New York to Charleston:
  18. Does the Princess at Sea App need to be downloaded prior to boarding Emerald Princess if no internet package will be purchased? I would like to be able to text other passengers for free. Assuming the ship does not have Medallion internet, will I need the app? If it does have Medallion, is there a different app? Thanks for any input
  19. Can anyone advise me - for the sea day programme - what times they choose for trivia and bingo both morning and afternoon I am trying to organise a slot pull on an upcoming cruise but do not want to clash with these two popular activities Your help is appreciated
  20. We will be on the Ruby in two weeks. We leave Seattle on Saturday and Sunday is a sea day. We get to Juneau at 11:00 AM on Monday morning. About what time on Sunday will we starting sailing in the Inside Passage?
  21. On embarkation day for our Alaska cruise, a family member will deliver us to Pier 91. Is there easy access to check-in? This is our maiden cruise. We are boobs at seagoing, so our questions are rather humble and basic. Thank you for replying!
  22. We're booked on Sea Princess 7/9/19 Dover to New York. Cost of everything onboard is more expensive due to being an Australian (AUD) based ship. We have US$ based OBC from onboard booking bonus and shareholder credits. Princess converts 1:1, a real ripoff. I've sought a solution by called and writing customer support and told there is nothing they can do. The response and hold times are ridiculously long and attitudes not customer friendly. Prior to this we've had 27 Princess cruises with positive Princess experiences. Has anyone else found a solution?
  23. We will be on Diamond Princess again this year. Our last port of call before Kobe is Busan, South Korea, then a sea day and then docking in Kobe. Last time we did Japan customs and passport control on board on the sea day before docking back in Japan. Will this still be the case or should we plan on a multi hour wait for customs after docking in Kobe??
  24. My fiance and I are scheduled for the Grand Princess on May 26th - we've only done Caribbean Cruises (and a Panama Canal cruise) before so we're not exactly sure what to expect with the sea days. I know part of the allure of Alaska is sailing the inside passage. I'm assuming that will kind of be like going through the canal - scenery on both sides. However, for the actual "sea days" between Tracy Arm Fjord and Victoria as well as the day before Ketchikan - does it look like a traditional sea day outside? Ocean as far as the eye can see? Just trying to plan for our relaxation days vs staying on deck for scenery. Thanks!
  25. Last month did something I thought I would never do....a cruise with 4 and then 5 sea Days in a row. Am a Port Person, have professed it several times on these boards. Felt sea days wasted time that could be spent ashore. Just like I was an Aft'r, no cabin but on the stern. But one needs to shake it up once in awhile..so for the last couple of years, cabins all around the ship for us.... and cruises with 2 sea days in a row, then 3.......but NO more than 3, that was my limit! And last month I did something I thought I would never do book..... a 15 day Hawaiian cruise out of San Pedro. We live in So CA so it's a 5 hour flight to Hawaii so why on earth would I take a cruise, with 9 sea days? This was a last minute booking so I didn't have to think about the sea days, we just went. And now I get it.....Sea days can be relaxing ...finally I SEA the light...... So this old SEA dog can learn new tricks.... But still on the fence about doing a TA......😉 Happy Cruising.... Lri
