Wondering how many people get vaccinations for the Caribbean? Worried about Hepatitis.

Posted this under another board but should have posted here...my apologies.

I just asked my Dr about this. They recommend a Hep vaccine if you plan to eat sushi, oysters or any raw shell fish.

I don't eat any of that so I did not get the vaccine.

Your Dr may recommend different, but would definitely get an appointment prior to your cruise to make sure.

My son is preparing for a mission trip to Guatemala and the organization he is serving with recommends Hep A, Hep B, and current tetanus.

Please verify with your doctor or appropriate government agency for their guidelines.

Our family has traveled quite a bit and can’t remember where we were traveling exactly where it was recommended to us but since I keep hearing the importance of Hep A And Hep B vaccinations. The kids only had a couple extra shots I think but DH and I had more because our kids had gotten more than we did when they were young. I think it was a 3 shot series but it’s been a while so I could be wrong. Either way, not a big deal and provides a lot of peace of mind.
