mrlevin Posted July 13, 2018 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2018 (edited) According to Silversea, due to fuel supplier issues, they had to modify the itinerary leaving later this month. They are refueling twice in a 19 day trip. It appears that they are refueling on 31 July and 8 August and will travel maybe a thousand nautical miles in between these refuelings. Does anyone know the fuel capacity and burn rate of Silver Explorer? thanks, Marc Edited July 13, 2018 by Marq
Stumblefoot Posted July 13, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2018 Sorry that I can't answer your question directly Marc, but I think Silversea has had Russian fuel supplier issues before. I remember when we got trapped in Arkhangelsk once due to an extortion plot (oops, I mean a refueling issue) that caused SS to cancel an entire port of call in Norway (Alta) on our voyage. Bill B Posted July 13, 2018 #3 Share Posted July 13, 2018 Does anyone know the fuel capacity and burn rate of Silver Explorer? I don't know the capacity, but the burn rate depends on how fast she's pushed. ;p
