CVS/Walgreens near Celebrity pier?

Hate to ask a practical question, but our first stop on Equinox is Key West, and we won’t have much time in Miami/Fort Lauderdale pre-cruise. Is there a CVS or Walgreens or the like handy in Key West for sunscreen and contact lens solution? One of the things we always loved in San Juan was the availability of the practical near the pier. Not sure about Key West.

CVS is very convenient and I use it when n Key West, but for sunscreen and small, incidental things, there's Shorty's Bodega at 215 Duval Street, a locally owned little shop. Now, about sunscreen...

I was reading about sunscreens that contain Benzophenone-3. This is, on the one hand, great stuff for blocking radiation from the sun...

"Benzophenone-3 provides effective protection against both UVA and UVB radiation. The substance has been available since the 1980s."

But the problem is that this chemical primes the growth of a deadly virus in coral reefs. The sunscreen washes off when you are swimming or snorkeling, then affects the coral. If you think of it when you are buying sunscreen, check the ingredients, and if you can buy one that does not contain this chemical, buy that one. Do me and the reef a favor.

Thanks

There is a big CVS right at Mallory square now. There's another in the 500 block of Duval, right next to Margaritaville, where Fast Buck Freddies used to be. Directly across the street is a Walgreens in the old Strand theatre, then four more blocks down there is yet another CVS in Truman Square, at the corner of Duval and Truman.

Yeah, we found the one on Duval on our way to the Hemingway house and stopped there on our way back. The one at Mallory Square actually wasn't obvious leaving the ship, but was coming back. But we were successful.
