Port to Brisbane CBD

I've read through this forum and it doesn't look easy (or cheap!) to get from the ship into the city.

I've read options that include the ship shuttle, a taxi, or the ferry.

The ferry was suggested because of potential traffic problems. Can anyone help with information on how to get to the ferry, cost, etc?

Thanks loads!

Where are you docked?

If you don't know then google ports of Brisbane cruise ship schedule.

If Portside you are in luck. About a 10 minute walk to the Bretts wharf ferry terminal.

If FI Grain you are further out of town and there is no public transport.

Taxi or a paid ship's shuttle.

The shuttle drop off is usually ANZAC square right in the centre of town.

About a 35 - 40 minute trip.

I met someone off the shuttle recently and it seemed an efficient service. The shuttle stop is in Ann Street, opposite Central Station, and in front of Anzac Square. People from Brisbane Tourist Information meet the busses with maps, offers of assistance, etc.

Brisbane is an easy city to tour on your own -

streets - women's names one way, men's names the other way.

City Hall - Brisbane Museum and Clock Tower

Gardens - Roma Street Parklands and Brisbane Botanical Gardens (in city)

across the river - Southbank, with its gardens and big outdoor swimming pool as well as theatres, museums and art galleries.

Yes there is a small supermarket at Portside, plus restaurants, movie theatre (Dendy Portside) etc.  I would bring my own laundry soap with me, as I've had trouble finding laundry soap on my travels.  I recently ended up buying it at a small shop in Labrador, Canada, of all places.
