Columbia and Snake Rivers

Hoping to get insight as to what kind of weather to expect in late June on the Columbia and Snake Rivers. I expect the cruise to be rather casual (American Pride), and that layers will be advisable. Suggestions are welcome!

I am not sure where on the snake river you are going so I can't really answer that. But on the Columbia Gorge from Portland to what they call the Tri Cities it can be very windy. Late June should be warm weather, but it can be very windy. Twice driving our motorhome down the Gorge on I-84 we pulled over because we felt like we were going to be blown over. Once was in late June and once the middle of August. You will see very beautiful country.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. We will be going from Astoria all the way to Lewiston. Day prior in Portland, day after in Lewiston.

Expect it to be windy and warm -- assuming winter ever actually decides to leave. By June temperatures in eastern Oregon and Idaho will be climbing into the 80s.

Agree with what has been posted so far. I would add that you should not overlook the possibility of rain this time of year, especially on the western part of the cruise, say from Astoria to Hood River.

Look on the Alaska Board for layering ideas though it’ll be warmer where you’re going.
