We are due in LA port from 7am to 4pm. This is our first time in USA. Suggestions of tours,sights to meet cruise times would be appreciated. Thanks.

Being your first time here...and with limited time, my best suggestion is to sign up for a standard LA tour with Sunseeker Tours:

They are the only major tour company here that picks up and drops off at the harbor. Note that LA is REALLY large in terms of area and time it takes to get across town. Most other tour companies are headquartered in Hollywood or on the West Side...and won't come down to the port--which is 20-30 miles south of most typical LA area tourist sites. Sunseeker is headquartered in Long Beach, near the harbor and, if they get a bunch of reservations from your ship, will tailor a tour to fit within your port hours...and take you to the typical LA tourist sites in Hollywood (Griffith Observatory, Walk of Fame, Chinese Theater, view of Hollywood Sign, etc.) and on the West Side (Beverly Hills/Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica, Venice Beach)...and get you back to the ship on time.

Other choice would be to take a tour like this through the cruise line if they offer one...

IF you had been to LA before, you might consider staying in the Harbor area--Queen Mary, Aquarium of the Pacific--but you would have missed a lot of what most people want to see in LA...
