Thanks John, that is just what I was asking. We do usually bring a bottle or two of special Champagne aboard with us but we drink it on our balcony. This time there are three of us going. so we thought we would take it to Epicurean with us.

Considering the cost of our bottle of Champagne £20 seems reasonable!

Captainclive, thanks for your answer as well, but I drink the Taittinger onboard all the time. It's very nice indeed...but nowhere near the quality of our special bottle of Louis Roederer Cristal.

Im going to be no help to you whatsoever, but curiosity was killing me!

Had to google.

That's some serious champagne!

I hope you and your friends enjoy your champagne and have a lovely break.

Best wishes (and apologies for being nosy!)

No problem at all jasperado! Now you know why the £20 corkage charge is not so off putting to us.

It is a special occasion though....Taittinger would be more my usual tipple. 😄🍾

How does corkage work in practice? I know if passengers who used to take a case or half case of their favourite wine on board and simply pay corkage in the MDR. With the advent of a limit oh 1l of alcohol per passenger is this type of thing still possible?
