transportation from San Francisco Pier to Hotel in Union Square

What is the best way for husband and I to get from the San Francisco Pier to Marines Hotel in Union Square? We have friends checking in the day before, so can put our luggage in their hotel room until check in time. Planning on renting a car the day after we get in, as getting around to places we want to go to can be done without a car. We will be there on March 6th.

LOL, best meaning easiest to book............or just hail a taxi?

There will be taxis outside the cruise terminal. Lots of them. Fort Uber, you use the app.

I am finding Uber is an easy way to go.

Lowe price then Taxi.

And often a cleaner vehicle.

Do it that day. When you pull up the app it will show moving icons for all the drivers close to you and there will be many. I was intimidated the first time I used it, never after. It's so easy not to have to worry about paying. You just get in and get out.

I agree Uber is easy, quick and inexpensive. We usually walk across the street (Embarcadero) and then ask for Uber. For an easy pick up, before you ask for Uber go left (south) 1/2 a block (as you look out from the terminal) then you can go right on Battery, a one way street going in the direction of your hotel.

Uber is much cheaper than a taxi.
