Transport to Florence from Livorno cruise port

About how long does it take to get off the ship, and into Florence? I want to do a wine tour through a private company whose meeting point is the Florence Santa Maria Novella Train Station. And about how much does it cost? I'm thinking we would taxi to the train station in Livorno and then take the train into Florence???

Still an open question ? ... Let me post what I did perhaps to help others still waiting for an answer.

Our cruise ship (Crown Princess) docked at Livorno at 7am and it was Thursday. IMO, walking off the dock area would not be sensible. However, there is shuttle (5 euro round trip) provided by port livorno to city center. If taking train to Florence, then one can take a city bus at the city center to reach the Livorno train station. However, there is a 9:45 am bus provided by TuscanyBus.com to Florence (30 euro round trip) at almost the same spot the port shuttle drop off. I took the bus to Florence instead. Turned out all passengers that day were from the cruiseships, so on the return, they dropped us back directly at ship side. We have about 4.5 hr at Florence that day.
