Rotterdam Netherlands. Do we pass thru a customs etc before leaving the ship?

Our ship Rotterdam docks at 7 am in Rotterdam (stays 7 am to 5 pm). We are arranging for a private tour for the day. If I arrange for the tour to begin at 8 am will I have time to clear "customs" and meet the car at 8 am? I want to arrange to be back by 4 for a 5 pm sailing. Is this enough time to get back onboard?

Assuming you arrive from another european (Schengen) country there will be no customs.

Even if you are coming from a non-Schengen country like the UK, any customs formalities will be minimal. In any case, you won't be carrying luggage.

When you return to the ship, the car will drop you immediately outside the terminal building, so only 5 minutes or so get back onboard. Targetting a 4pm return for 5pm departure leaves you plenty of wriggle room for traffic.

When we were last there there was only an Passport check, but as there was only 2 employees, the line was very long. But it moved fairly quickly for it's length.
