mapleleaves Posted November 16, 2017 Author #80 Share Posted November 16, 2017 this thread is meant to be a resource, not a place to place to post vendors or pose questions. Did you look at the town web sites for Seward and Anchorage ? If you want information or recommendations on specific vendors, please start your own thread. Glaciers Posted December 15, 2017 #81 Share Posted December 15, 2017 I usually suggest getting out of Anchorage although there are many things downtown to do. This is a brochure put out by the Anchorage Downtown Partnership. http://anchoragedowntown.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Things-To-Do-in-Downtown-2017.pdf

Etchdreams Posted April 14, 2018 #87 Share Posted April 14, 2018 My wife and I along with another couple decided to fly in to Anchorage in May of 2018 and spend a week in the area. I have been able to reach out to "Glaciers" and others who have been helpful with any questions that I have had. These post along with all if the other information will make our trip to Alaska unforgettable, so with that said, just wanted to say "Thanks" to all of those that have helped with our planning

mapleleaves Posted May 3, 2018 Author #89 Share Posted May 3, 2018 The cruise portion of the Port of Seattle web site has changed, so use the following link to find Info on the cruise calendar, which pier to use, transportation, rental car kiosks, etc https://www.portseattle.org/maritime/cruise If your airline participates, you may want to take advantage of the Port's FREE luggage valet service between the pier and airport: http://online.pubhtml5.com/xflj/anbq/#p=
roothy123 Posted May 5, 2018 #90 Share Posted May 5, 2018 This may have been mentioned already, as I didn't read every post. However, I found traveljuneau.com to be a great resource - food, hotels, car rental, plus everything to do from whale watching trips to hiking past the ruins of the Treadmill Mine to watching marijuana plants grow at a local business. (Yes, personal use is legal in Juneau.) They will also send you a printed copy of their guide - 60 or more pages of it!

Sunny AZ Girl Posted February 20, 2019 #99 Share Posted February 20, 2019 Thank you for the links. I have ordered a mailed Visitor's Guide of Sitka, the only port where we don't have a tour planned. Right now we are thinking of taking the shuttle to the Fortress of the Bear, then back to the Raptor Center. From there I would like to walk back to the Totem Park and then back to town to visit other historic sights. My question is about the shuttle. I haven't seen much information on it, other than to call just prior to the visit to see if it is running. Can we expect it to be running on a ship day? If so, where would we pick up the shuttle from the tender pier?
Tourist1292 Posted February 21, 2019 #100 Share Posted February 21, 2019 I found the port calendars that list the arrival and departure time of all cruise ships to be very useful for planning excursions and dinning at ports.
