Ship - Sunshine

Deck - 1

Stateroom # - 1496

Stateroom Category – 6B

Starboard or Port Side - port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – quiet after hours, but there is a metal firedoor threshold right outside the door that gets slammed by housekeeping and service carts going by during their work shifts. Very startling. Neighbors thought it was us making noise. These thresholds are present at all deck 1 fire doors. Cabin doors have hvac returns so they transmit noise readily.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no.

Balcony View - no. Oceanview. No obstructions outside window.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - n/a

Was wind a problem? - n/a

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - n/a, mid.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - no fridge, limited shelving storage space. Very cozy with 2 adults and 2 kids. But cabin steward brought a cooler and kept it full of ice for us.

Any other comments? - no "Sunshine Sewer Smell" on this part of deck 1 (port mid). Everything mechanical and electrical worked well in this cabin.

Ship - Valor

Deck - 6

Stateroom # - 6229

Stateroom Category – 8A

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – This is right over the Ivanhoe theatre - so it's not a quiet room - if you are early sleepers. You can hear all the noise from the microphones and the crowds.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Great view

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? - No.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - There is some wear in the cabin on the wood - quite a few places are chipped.

Any other comments? -This has an upper pullman bunk, so it can sleep 4. If you don't use it, the ladder stays under the bed, which can take up storage space.

Ship - Magic

Deck - 9

Stateroom # - 9477

Stateroom Category – 8N

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard/AFT

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Stateroom was pretty quiet except for late night and some early morning noises from Lido/Tides pool chair scraping noises. It was immaterial and we only heard it a few times we were onboard.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No.

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Amazing and fantastic AFT view.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? - No.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - No.

Any specific problems with this cabin? - There's one small black scratch on the white ceiling tile above the bed. The couch had imprints from some old ship flyers. That's the only thing we noticed.

Any other comments? - Fantastic stateroom. Probably our favorite, and we'll always try to book an AFT cabin going forward.

Ship - Magic

Deck - 6

Stateroom # - 6481

Stateroom Category – 8A (Balcony)

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard (Aft)

Quiet Stateroom? – Yes, very quiet. Near end of hall, not much traffic at all. Aft elevators are just around the corner, but far enough away that crowd noise was never a problem.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View – Great view, I thought. It's located behind where Deck 5 widens, so there's an unobstructed view of the sea right straight down. Looking forward is the Pig and Anchor Sea Day buffet, and the Lanai off of Ocean Plaza. Unobstructed view aft.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? - No, except one day when we were sailing into a slight cross-wind. Even then it wasn't nearly as bad as some I've experienced.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - Not at all ((side-facing aft cabin).

Any specific problems with this cabin? - No

Any other comments? - Location is very convenient to everything but the Atrium, theater and Northern Lights MDR. We had YTD, which was Deck 3 (lower MDR deck, entering from Atrium), so it was a long walk to dinner. We usually walked up Deck 4 (Mezzanine) which was usually clear of heavy traffic, quiet and scenic (lots of art). (During dinner hours you can't get from aft to forward on Deck 3.) Lido Marketplace, Pizza, Tandoor and Cucina del Capitano are straight up from this balcony stateroom (aft elevators).

Ship - Breeze

Deck - 10 (Lido)

Stateroom # - 10262

Stateroom Category – Balcony

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Occasional noise due to proximity to elevators and stairs, but did not interfere with sleep. Possibly heard a few more slamming doors than usual due to the laundry being directly across the hall, but again this was not a significant issue nor would it discourage us from staying in this stateroom again.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – Normal view. No obstructions or any other issues.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal; 2 chairs and 1 small table

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - None

Any other comments? - Great location for easy access to stairs/elevators and Lido amenities, but far enough from the pool entrance that noise wasn't a major concern. Laundry room is directly across the hall from this cabin.

I don't know if there is a spreadsheet, but the first post has the template for filling in information. If you're looking for info on a specific cabin, you'll have to do a search on the thread.

Thanks for the reply. There is another thread, I forget the cruise line, that has a really nice spreadsheet. I did a search for our cabin number in vain. However, I would like to see info on other similar cabins...we are an aft view on deck 8 <8468>, but I'm sure info on other aft views would be interesting and informative.

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – somewhat. Frequent rumbling sounds from carts being rolled overhead, but not troublesome. Lots of noise from the hallway, even after placing a rolled towel at the bottom of the door - sound (and light) leaked from then sides as well. Be aware, if you're a light sleeper.

Any other comments? - We were leery about the potential for noise, but it turned out to not be problematic for us. We would book again.

Cabin was super noisy. Music from the lobby so loud that the beds were vibrating. This went on past midnight every night. It felt like a speaker was directly under the room. It was loud enough that it was difficult to hear the TV.

Ship: Conquest

Deck: Main

Stateroom # 2286

Stateroom category: Oceanview 6C

Port side

Connecting stateroom: No

Quiet: Very quiet and close to elevators

View: Large window in cabin Low to the water Great view of waves.

Specific Comments about this cabin: Close to Atrium elevators.

No doors across from our door so very quiet location.

Specific Comments about this Ship: We loved the decor of this ship. The art work was so interesting and in every nook and cranny there was more. Very colorful and vibrant.

Cruised in Nov. 2017 and loved this ship. Want to book her again in 2019.

.....................................................................................................

Ship: Sunshine

Deck: Main

Stateroom: 2175

Category: Oceanview 6C

Side: Starboard

Connecting room: No

Quite: NO / Crew Door right across from our door There was lots of door slamming and cleaning carts left around our door. Also sometimes you could hear the "ding" of the elevators in the bathroom.

View: Large window in this cabin. Good view of the water and waves & flying fish.

Specific Comments about this cabin: This Main deck seemed a bit higher above the water then most

I have been on. We like being close to the water line.

Specific Comments about this Ship: The motion of this ship was the worst I have ever been on. It wasn't a problem with stabilizers but more a problem with the whole ship vibrating constantly. I felt ill every day and had a hard time finding a table in the MDR where the vibrations weren't horrible. I spoke to staff and other cruisers and they all agreed it was a rough riding ship.

We cruised in May 2018. We will never go on the Sunshine again.

.......................................................................................................

We also have sailed the Carnivale, the Holiday, the Celebration and the Legend.

We loved them all but don't remember the specifics other then the first three were inside cabins and the Legend was a Balcony.

Ship - Splendor

Deck - 8

Stateroom # -8342

Stateroom Category – Interior-Ambulatory Accessable

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Not only is this stateroom right below the main pool area, but it is in a middle hall right by the elevators. There was constant noise coming from above and in the hallway.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – N/A

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - N/A

Was wind a problem? - N/A

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? - There is no way this cabin should be considered "accessible" at all. The description says it is for people who use assistive devices including scooters. While the bathroom had accessible features, the cabin was far too small for a scooter. I had to park it in the shower each night so that my roommate and I could both get out of our beds and make it to either the bathroom or cabin door. If it is parked in the cabin, it either blocks you from getting in/out of bed, or getting to/from the bathroom.

Any other comments? -

Spa Deck 11 on the Valor means that the serenity deck is above you. The only thing different than other balcony rooms is that there is no full cover over the deck (ex. on deck 10, you have the floor of deck 11 completly covering your balcony). Standing at the railing and looking up and back you may see people on the serenity deck, but they can only see your railing and not your entire balcony.

We really enjopyed this cabin. We were concerned that being deck 11 and forward we'd feel more movement but that was not the case at all. I'd book this room again!

Both lamps near the beds have 2 USB power plugs!
