Russ B Posted April 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2018 Kia Ora Whanau, (Hello family, in Maori). We are from New Zealand and are both very excited about joining the Equinox and all the people that are going to be on it. We have just paid off our mortgage, so we thought we'd celebrate! A trip to the Caribbean seemed the right thing to do. Being first time serious cruisers, (we did a 3 day cruise around the Hauraki gulf before), we were wondering if anyone has any tips for us first timers? We have booked up trips for each island stopover, (I can't wait for the game fishing in St Lucia!) How about on board? Any tips etc concerning dress codes, dining, etc? We have a drinks package so, all good there. But any other tips would be great. With much respect, (Mana), Russ and Sue Barker, From Auckland NZ.
Rare broberts Posted April 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2018 Try not to book too much in every port. It can get exhausting and some ports are fun leisurely exploring on ones own.
Russ B Posted April 19, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted April 19, 2018 Thanks for that. We've only booked one trip/excursion at each island. Not sure what Mrs Russ will do in St Lucia when I'm out fishing, but, she's not having the credit card! :D:D:D

griffy116 Posted April 19, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 19, 2018 al Bacio is FABULOUS. Loved sitting with my Mocha Latte and the wonderful treats. This ended up being one of my favorite spots on the Equinox. My family always knew where to find me. It was also nice to grab a can of Diet Coke as I headed to my cabin to have later. lauren009 Posted April 20, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 20, 2018 I haven't sailed Celebrity, so I can't give specific advice for your ship, but here is my packing list (warm weather, 6-8 day cruise), and some things you might want for your cruise: http://laurenofalltrades.blogspot.com/2017/10/cruise-packing-list.html http://laurenofalltrades.blogspot.com/2017/10/cabin-must-haves.html http://laurenofalltrades.blogspot.com/2018/04/cruise-necessities.html
