Carnival Elite cruise

To those who received the ultra or elite offers, congrats..

I have emailed the players club several times in the last few weeks, they now ignore us, so we feel that after cruising approx. 100 days in the last 12 months, almost all on premier offers, and easily qualifying on all of them for the better offers of ultra or elite, as has been explained by the Players Club, we will finish our cruising next month with a b2b on the Vista, both Premier cruises, and sit out the summer.

If we don't receive any ultra/elite cruise offers by the fall, we'll head off to NCL's new casino club.

No hard feelings, the Premier cruises have been fun, and the offers of less expensive cruises have been nice, but the better offers of ultra, and elite don't appear as yet to be transparent enough in how you get them, as was promised by the players club, to be to our liking!

The offers have given us a chance to get to know Carnival, and there is a lot to like, so even without future ultra/elite offers, I'm sure we'll come back to Carnival, just not so often!

It's been fun while it lasted.

To all, happy cruising, and good luck in the casino!

This will be my first Elite cruise. Husband and I are going on the Horizon, July 23! Does anyone know how far in advance they give you the details of the cruise? I'm looking at booking excursions but don't want to book at the port which is included in the trip. Is anyone else going on the Horizon, July 23?

The Elite cruises are normally for only 30 - 40 cabins max on each cruise so when they are filled, they are filled. And it is first come, first booked and I was told that once it is filled they don't send emails to let you know if you didn't make it.

Once you get confirmation, someone will call from Carnival to get your reservation.

You will then get a few emails. The first will be for drink preferences in your cabin (one bottle and one mixer each). I actually opted for bottled water because the Elite includes a drink anywhere on the boat for free card.

You will then get an email to get your flight info and eventually you will get something on the excursion, which will be one of the last ones.

So in answer to your question, you can always book your excursions and then cancel once you know or keep emailing your host until they let you know which port.

In our case we went out of Miami and it was Roatan. However, the ocean was too rough and we never docked so they gave all of us $100 Casino cash.

There were a plethora of drawings everyday and almost all for the Elite's. The one time I wasn't there, my name was called. There were several people who's names were called numerous times.

Had a wonderful time, met some really nice people and the Casino Staff was incredible. Since there are just a few of us, they all made an attempt to get to know us.

what kind of drawings were there? For cash or prizes? Worried about lugging stuff back if we're flying

Just got an offer for an Elite Cruise. Here are the dates and location. Unfortunately I won't be able to take the offer but it sounds great (free balcony room, transfers from airport to port, free drinks, free excursion, many other perks). Hopefully I get another offer in the future. FYI, I'm only Red VIFP member so it may also be random on who they send these offers too. I get premier offers all the time and even got an Ultra offer last year. I can also guarantee that I am not a big Whale either. Happy sailing for those who are able to go!

05/13/18 From Baltimore, MD 7 days on Pride

05/26/18 From Galveston, TX 7 days on Freedom

06/10/18 From New Orleans, LA 7 days on Dream

06/17/18 From Baltimore, MD 7 days on Pride

07/20/18 From Port Canaveral, FL 8 days on Sunshine

07/23/18 From New York, NY 8 days on Horizon

07/31/18 From New York, NY 8 days on Horizon

08/11/18 From Miami, FL 7 days on Glory

08/12/18 From New Orleans, LA 7 days on Dream

I'll be on the Horizon Elite cruise on 7/31 with my family. I'm also taking two ultras one on the magic and the other on the Horizon, a premier on the Horizon, and just a regular cruise after they comp'ed me a suite on the Horizon this year. Five more cruises this year.

I get free premier offerings, but haven't received any Ultra or Elite since 2 years ago. Since I only play table games, it's hard to know how many points I earned. So, last year on a premier, I played roulette on a machine and had 9,500 points in 2 days in addition to my usual table play (I know they are separate pools of points). According to the website, I should have received an Ultra invite for Spring 2018, but I never received it. I do think it was interesting about less offers for platinum and more for red. My cruise last week they missed my VIFP number and gave me a new red one. I got better offers under the red than I had from my platinum cruises earlier this year. The PVP told me to book the offers under the red account BEFORE I combine the accounts so I wouldn't lose the offers.

I used to say they were pretty transparent about how the casino offers work, but now I am not so sure. Like you, I am considering NCL since I have a free cruise offer from them, but I do like my platinum stuff, so it's a hard choice. I am waiting to see what Carnival club says about my missing invite.

I hadn't either. I've been on Premier and an Ultra (thanks to my wife's play).

The only thing I know is that they will pick me up at the airport, it includes a DOU card anywhere on the ship and an excursion.

It's a balcony cabin and I only paid port charges.

you're describing an elite cruise, cause those benes. are not part of ultra benes.!

sounds like your wife is a big gambler!;p

She doesnt have to be a big gambler. I was recently on a cruise and won 420 dollars second day. That 420 was recycled the entire cruise, and i walked away with 1800. My initial investment to win the 420 was 160.

I gathered enough points on the machines winnings.. win lose win lose, but regardless of money spent, the points is what gives you the offers

I received the elite offer and have two booked.. i may not even go to the casino other than for the draws. I did an ultra last year because of the same type of situation, and i spent the $100 i received from the casino, once i lost that not another penny spent. So over those two cruises, my investment 160 my return 1800. up quite a bit and received the offers... certainly not a Big gambler.. in fact casino staff asked why i wasnt playing... and i didnt.. not as much as an average joe who puts in 20 dollars a day...

When I say big gambler, I'm not talking how much she won, lost, but how much she plays, as its the 'play' that earns the points and earns the offers! The offers are not based on wins/losses, but play!

Damn, I'm jealous. We've done 14 carnival cruises and are platinum. Never heard of an Elite cruise or any of the others and we spend a lot of time in the casino. I play about 6-8 hours a day/night playing poker (when there are enough to play), about 2-3 hours of blackjack and about 2-3 hours playing the slots. Not sure if poker counts although it should. They know you're playing because you have to enter with your S&S card. My wife plays about 8 hours of slot every day. She always gets the required points for free drinks. We get squadoosh for these elite cruises. We do get casino credit on our next cruise if we use the casino rate.

I just booked aug.4th from Galveston. At this point, paying for taxes and port fees I was very skeptical of how “free this cruise was.... when I called Carnival the lady said clearly “wow your pretty lucky, I don’t hear of these to offer”

They are very rare, talking to a Carnival Casino host a few months back, he told me elites on Carnival are like 'whales' on land based casinos in the amount of their play! Good to hear some offers still include free cruises, most here talking about 'free' cruises from recent offers, are including their casino cash credit.

I also put in my request on Saturday. I wrote again just asking if they received my request. I was told then by e-mail yesterday (April 19) to call a number at 10am. I DID and I GOT IT! I am going on the Glory August 11, 2018 out of Miami ELITE!

My wife and I are also on this cruise on the elite offer. See you there!:D

My Elite offer came by email with a number for me to call them. I didn't have to email and wait for a response. Interestingly, I've only done a Premier (in February this year) but I have an Ultra booked for October. Was very surprised to get the Elite offer. Got the balcony room and some casino cash - just paid port charges and our insurance. They mentioned the parking and drinks, but nothing about bottle in the room or dinner in specialty restaurant. Not concerned about the bottle deal as we're not big drinkers and can get drinks anywhere if we want.

We go out on the Horizon in December. Will be fun to check out a new ship as we've only been on about 8 different Carnival ships. Funny thing - we get "platinum status" for the cruise and this is the cruise where we actually will make platinum!

We got the email about the parking/transportation and the bottle about 3 weeks before our cruise (we leave the 31st). They allow both you and your guest to select one bottom and mixer.

Still haven't heard anything about shore excursion and/or restaurant.

Here's the list if anyone is interested:

Your shore excursion is right at the top of the same e-mail showing the drinks you can pick. The excursion is to Isla Pasion in Cozumel via Catamaran.

I just double checked my email and it's definetly not there :( We're not stopping in Cozumel but I'm guessing our excursion will be something similar. I emailed them back to see if they could provide more info.

Can you give any details to how your cruise went? The free drinks? Giveaways? Any other comments?

I went on an elite cruise in July 2018. It was a small group, maybe 50-60 people, including roommates. Smaller group than a premier cruise maybe 1/2 the size or less.

Free upgrade to platinum which includes all of the benefits of platinum. Receptions where drinks and appetizers are served.

Free drinks for the first two people booked to the room. It’s the $55/day package. Free value plan internet. Free excursion. Free dinner at the steakhouse. Free parking at the pier, or free transport to and from airport. Free drinks or soda delivered to the room. Free bottle of champagne in the room. Free daily gift to the room.

Multiple daily drawings.

It was fun.

I paid $200 plus tax and gratuity for my wife and I. I received a $200 room credit and $1000 casino cash.

I live in Australia and have had multiple offers that haven't suited me or my husband. They were all out of America which was too much air time for me. They have now started sending me Elite offers for Australian waters and the South Pacific. I always get over 30,000 points on a cruise except for last year. In 20 days I clocked up 100,000 points. Today I finally booked an Elite cruise 7 months away around Australia. Get every perk imaginable, a suite and $4000 casino cash plus $400 onboard credit. The $400 Is the amount I paid to confirm my husband and I's booking. Plus pick up and drop off at airport. I was sent 5 offers covering 2019 starting in March. So the offers certainly are there. I am only taking 1 at this stage. I'll post my experience here the first week of October. Hosts that have spoken to me have said they've never before seen a casino cash offer as high as $4000. I  am Gold VIFP with 10 days to go for Platinum
