Any questions about the Glory,,, we'll try to get an answer for you.

Our story,,,

We started our cruise 'b2b2b' 3 weeks on the Glory, April 7th, finishing April 28th!

Then we'll drive to Ft Lauderdale to board the Conquest for a 8 day southern cruise!

So far, our Glory observations,,, ,

MDR very good food, very relaxed dress! Service has been great! :D

Buffet has been good, very good selection at night, but lacking in desert options. :D

Tender tickets are used! You must go to the rear of ship, deck 5 to get a tender ticket when you're at a tender port, This does not include excursions, your excursion ticket will get you on a tender immediately!

The Glory's sandwich station is the worst we visited on a Carnival ship, pre made sands., watery tuna salad, and very limited amounts of meat, more like bread sandwiches!!!

Entertainment in showroom so far,,, not very good, sound system is way too loud, we're already sitting at the back of the theater! :o

Will try out the comedy shows this week!

Casino= machines extremely tight, staff in Casino are excellent, very friendly! The 3 weeks we're on the Glory are Casino Premier cruises! The first day's get together has been fun, and the weekly events are well run!

Any questions, suggestions, we'll get back to you as soon as we can!

Happy cruising!!

Did you book under a premier offer? If so, what are they giving out for gifts? Got a premier cruise booked on the Magic in 64 days! Last one I was on we got beach towels and slippers. Love the towels.

Wow that sounds such an awesome dream vacation! I'm getting on the 28th when you're getting off and will be doing the Eastern. I have a few questions....Do you have anytime dining? If so, any server you recommend? Any plans of the steakhouse? Have you tried the seafood shack or sushi.? Sorry about the deli :-( they took away my favorite which was smoked salmon. What did you do at St. Thomas and San Juan? Any must do activities on the ship? How's Serenity and the adult pool? Thanks so much!

We are going on Glory in November on the Eastern Itinerary and I've been trying to find info on here and no luck!

Which ports are tenders?

Is Glory in good condition? We were deciding between Glory and Conquest, and PVP said to go with Glory.

And please let me know what side Glory docks...we got a port side balcony on lido, and hoping to be facing the island at every stop.

Thanks!

Yes! We are probably just gonna walk around San Juan and visit some sites, but having a tough time figuring out what to do in St. Thomas.

Going to do waterfalls in Amber Cove, and make Grand Turk a beach day (most likely.)

Have you been to the movies at night? I am looking forward to them on our 5 May cruise on the Glory. Just wonder about the seating and sound system. Where to sit and can you hear the movie.

Yes, we booked all 3 cruises on the Glory under casino premier.

Same here, my wife loved the beach towels! So far we got large grey beach bags on day 3 or 4, much better then the blue ones they gave out last month. The gift waiting in the cabin was a memo pad with a pen, and the lanyard.

We suggest trying the Italian restaurant above the buffet. It's free at lunch, cost $15.pp at night with a much bigger menu, we really enjoyed it, went twice on one cruise in Dec..

They have the Italian Restaurant on The Glory? I knew they added the BBQ and Sushi but wasn't aware of the Italian. 22 days!!

Any time dining=yes, we recommend Haraccio, and his team of Svetlana, and Wayne.

San Juan=we went to Walgreen's across from the pier to get me an extra week of pills to cover the Conquest. Afterwards we had a frozen drink next to the free trolley stop across from the pier.

St Thomas=we took a taxi to Coki Beach. Great snorkeling right at the beach. Taxi one way=$9. Per person. Beach chairs with umbrella=$20. Ask for Bruce at Coki's, he'll take care of everything, even get you a taxi back to ship.

We used Serenity week one while at Belize, very nice area, 2 jaccuzis with only 4 people total using them counting me.

We didn't go to the steak house, but we're comped by the casino in the MDR the steak house selections for 2, and our steaks were great, I ate the fat it was so good!!! :D

No, sorry for the misunderstanding, the person I was replying to mentioned they had been on the Magic which has the Italian restaurant.

The movies play on the same sound system as the music that plays during the day. The crew will set up the lounge chairs in rows. You can also watch from deck 10.

Conquest Vs Glory, our opinion,,,,

The Conquest is in overall better shape.

Both ships offer great steak house meat,,, the NY sirloin on both was great, so good, I ate the fat. :D

Conquest showroom better quality.

Both have very good cruise directors, very entertaining!

The staff, level of service is very good on both ships, you see a lot of smiles.

Likely comes down to the itinerary you want, chose the ship that way.

Our eastern itinerary,

Half moon cay=tender from the port side.

St Thomas=pier, leave the ship from the starboard side.

San Juan=pier, leave the ship from the port side.

Grand Turk=pier, leave the ship from the port side.

Thanks.

Back on the ship, the b2b walk off and back on the ship took forever, seems someone didn't want to leave the ship!!!

Finally got through it, but some were upset, didn't even stay around for the picture!

Hello AmBear,

I’m doing a B2B on the Glory January 2019, Eastern and Western.

I’m following your question/ answer posts.

Enjoy your cruises!!

Brian

Thanks Brian, I'll try to get here each day, sharing the internet with my wife, gotta say the Glory's internet is slow, but the best we've seen yet on Carnival. Looking forward to next months Vista b2b to see how their internet rates.

Noticed the last day of the cruise is really, really slooooow. Figure everyone buys it the last day before getting off the ship.

Quick comment before turning in for the night, it's been warm these last 2 weeks, my guess is over half the men in any time dining are wearing shorts, but not many on dress up night.

Tonight's dine-in movies were Daddy's Home 2 and Pitch Perfect 3.

Tomorrow night's dine in movies will be The Commuter and Maze Runner: The Death Cure.

Also,,,, maybe because it's been warm, cabins are slightly warm, we got a fan on our first night 2 weeks ago, and have heard others are doing the same, but remember, the fans are limited, so if you need one, get it the first day! Our fan is on low speed every night, and it makes the cabin very comfortable.

We went to the Casino Premier Get together, We had a few vodka/tonics and some chicken wings, then headed to the cabin to shower for dinner.

We ate at the MDR tonight, I had the pork chop, very good, my wife had brisket, and thought it was very good.

Our apps were fried calamari, and corn chowder, again, very good.

We sat next to a friendly couple from Philly, had fun talking the Superbowl!

They headed off to a comedy show, we decided to call it early, watch a little TV, use the slow internet!-))

Happy cruising, talk more tomorrow.

We were on the glory 3/31-4/7. Enjoyed her very much except the temperature. Our cabin was HOT, the dining room was WARM, and the theatre was hit or miss. I asked the steward several times to check the temperature, he said it was within limits. Thank goodness, I always travel with a FAN, but still I was on the brink of misery several nights.

I am not trying to beat a dead horse, but I really miss the network channels on the TV. It was my way to wind down at night, and I keep me entertained while I got ready in the morning/evening. I did watch a lot of 1980-1990 movies I hadnt' seen in ages from the TMC.

all in all, it was a great cruise ( Eastern route).

Some ships seem warmer in the warmer weather, Glory seems to be one, another we found warm was the Magic.

Our recent cruises on the Conquest, Paradise, and Miracle, we found the cabins cooler, and didn't ask for a fan.

Important to those who need a fan, ask sooner then later, fans are limited.

Agree on the TV channels, we watch a lot of tnt/tbs/tmc movies at night when we have the TV on.

Up early this morning, time to use the internet while my wife sleeps in.

Internet speed is good this am, everyone on the ship must still be sleeping.

I order room service for 2, coffee, Apple juice, a few muffins, Just enough to hold us off til a late morning sea day brunch. Room service is here in 5 mins., usually takes 20-30 mins., again must be everyone sleeping in.

I really enjoy the sea day brunch, I always order the steak and eggs.

My wife said she'd find the laundry to wash some clothes, after 2 plus weeks on the Glory, and with another week on the Glory, and the 8 days next week on the Conquest, we'll need some freshly washed clothes.

I'll likely go to the casino during this time. They loaded a new 'roulette machine' on the Glory this week, might watch people play that for awhile. I played a 'craps machine' on a recent cruise, can't remember which ship, but I ended 'up' when I finished.

My wife doesn't play in the casino as much as I do, so I take advantage of when she's busy shopping, etc. to enter the casino. '-))

Emailed the 'players Club'yesterday again, I see on another CC thread that some 'elite' invites went out last week for the fall, still waiting for ours. Told them we weren't going to book anymore cruises after our June b2b on the Vista until we got the invite. Haven't been on a 'elite' casino cruise yet, we've easily qualified multiple times over the last year, and are looking forward to it.

There's a slot tournament at 12:30 today, gonna try to talk my wife into it, she'll most likely say, you go ahead. '-)) At 10:30 am, the casino will have their first 'snowball raffle', then at 4 pm Matilda the cash cow. Never hit any of them, but gotta keep trying. At 11 pm they'll have the 'luck of the card' drawing.

Happy cruising and good health to all, talk Later! -))
