Club Royale Casino Certificate Change

Recommended Posts

Just found out.......... effective yesterday 4/15/18....... you no longer will receive double credits for a JS booking if you use one of the Casino Cruise Certificates. I was also informed you can no longer use multiple certificates for a single booking ( I have done this in the past)......seemingly there is no end to the trend...............

I do hope this is for Cabins booked after 4/15/18, and not sailing after 4/15/18. I booked a 4 night Enchantment JS in February of this year for December, using a Casino Certificate. I'm sure hoping for double points. Not that it will make much difference in my status, but it would definitely help my granddaughter. She is Platinum, with just 5 points to Emerald, so if no double points, she will still be 1 point shy of Emerald. That would stink for her!

That will really stink. Have started to book the JS with the certs and enjoy getting the double points.

I am assuming that you called the Casino Royale line.

We just got off Allure yesterday and each of us got certificates. On the back it says that multiple certificates can be applied to the same [new] booking. Are you saying that they will not honor this rule ?

Well this is annoying! I have booked junior suites for 2 sailings on the Mariner our if Miami, using dollars-off casino certificates, because I am working on getting our Diamond Plus status. There is a significant price different between a balcony and a JS on the Mariner. I really hope this change is only for bookings made after April. Not a happy Casino person right now.

What T&C says that? I do not see that on the one hubby got last month.

I am repeating what was told to me. The agent was adamant about only one certificate per booking. I told her she was wrong and she said I was incorrect. At that point, there was nothing more to be said......I did not book the cruise I called about even though my intentions were to. Way I figure it, in my situation, at some point I will probably just book an inside with the certificate as a matter of principle.

Added: FYI....she did say if my cabin member ( in the same stateroom) had their own certificate in their name, it would be honored. This would be the only way two certs could be used simultaneously.

Yes....called the casino line and it is for any certificate used.....$100 off and up to and including free cruise.

Does that also apply for solos in non-suite accommodation?

Sheesh.

Hopefully, someone in a JS or solo traveler sailing soon will come on here and let us know. My Certificate was for a free OV. I paid to upgrade to a JS. I did this last year on the Empress, was told I wouldn't get double points, but when I checked my points after sailing, I did get the double points.

I sail solo and was always told that I could only use one certificate per cruise. I believe that if two people in a cabin each have their own certificate both could be applied. One person could not apply 2 certificates for one reservation.

Keep in mind the agent specifically told me this change went into effect yesterday 4/15. However, I agree with you....you never know...... reminds me of the big discussion here in the past about whether you received double points if you upgraded at the pier to a suite......Royal says no over the phone but in reality I believe most folks reported back they actually did get the double points.

I was told that only 1 "offer" per person may be used for a cruise.

But, if more than one person, spouse, etc.. has a certificate or offer in their name, then they can combine it with the other persons if they are in the stateroom.

I have in the past. So this is probably a case of Royal not being consistent with its own policies. I will throw another one out there....the cert says valid for only one year to book.....when speaking to an agent in the past...he told me nah, it does not matter, it can go over a year..........very frustrating.

It is hit and miss...they are supposed to be delivered to you stateroom the night before departure.....however I often have to go to the casino host and let him know I did not get one....he then prints one out for me. Keep in mind you have to have at least 400 points to get a certificate of $100.00, with slots I believe it is 1 point for every 3 dollars spent.

It's 1 point per $5.00 wagered on slots.

Maybe I should have tried another rep. I tried to book one 14 Days past my one year last week and it was a no.
