What is the most disgusting thing you have seen fellow passengers do?

Recommended Posts

Maybe it’s just me but I have witnessed some pretty disgusting things on board cruises. On my recent Horizen cruise I saw a woman at a table for 8 in the dining room, flossing her teeth, looking at it and continuing. The other people at her table paid no mind to the activity. They were a group together and actually had 3 large tables.

Also found ......Toe nail clippings on one of our balcony chairs! This is a brand new ship. It wasn’t me or my husband. Where did that come from?

More stories from other cruises but just wondering??

Maybe this thread might enlighten people as to what is considered inappropriate and or offensive public behaviour.

Using the bathroom next to a casino dealer, who didn't bother to wash his hands before going on break. I ratted him out to the Pit Boss, resulting in an awkward time with him as my dealer soon afterwards.:o

Two things stick out for me personally. First was a rather large gentleman who would scratch his butt and private area then take a whiff of his hand. He did it like three times. Second was a guy who had on small swim trunks and his junk was hanging out one of the legs as he sat down, and he never noticed. At least that one was kinda funny but the dude sniffing his hand was downright disturbing.

People coughing/sneezing into their hand instead of their elbow, then using that hand to touch anything and everything. Skeeves me out. I may look foolish pushing elevator buttons with my elbow, but I have never gotten sick on any cruise I have taken!

We were at the aft pool area. The muster drill had just started when I noticed a kid throwing up pool side. His father picked him up and held him OVER THE POOL while he continued to throw up.

So I did what any budinski would do and told the aft bartender what was going on and proceeded to my muster station.

After the drill, I returned to the aft area, expecting to see a closed or draining pool.

IT WAS NOT. And never was. Guess what pool I never went in the whole cruise.

Another time I was at the main pool. A mother was entering the pool with her baby in a diaper. I looked around and notice no one was watching.

So I got up and went to find a security guy who was standing WAY OVER THERE. He followed me back to the pool. He looks and then comes over to me, stating, "That's OK. The baby is wearing a diaper".

I gave up.

Keep off my grass.

My husband saw the comedy club manager use the restroom, not wash his hands, and then go back to the comedy club to continue his table touches and hand shaking. I was so disgusted when he told me that, we told guest services, but I don’t know if anything happened after that.

I guess when you have 2500-4000 ppl on a ship, not everyone will be using common sense.

I actually seen someone at the breakfast buffet, with a robe on, Reach into the food and the loose fitting sleeves were rubbing against all the food. He lifted his arm and it was all stained up with breakfast food. Just walked away like no big deal. Sad

We stayed on the ship during a port day in St. Lucia to enjoy the pools and the empty ship. A nice southern gent, many drinks into his day announces to his wife he has to take a leak. Gets up from his poolside chair, saunters into the public restroom in his bare feet. Comes strolling out and yep, right into the pool. That was my cue to get out. I did just see a guy do the same thing in Cozumel last week. I see how much stuff is on the floor of a public restroom. I would never ever walk in barefoot.

Last week on the Sunshine, a women in front of me at the breakfast buffet used a pair of things to get some Eggs Benedict and put it on her plate. When she realized that it had salmon on it, she picked it up with her fingers and put it back on the buffet tray! I asked the attendant to through that item away and he did. Then this same woman couldn't separate the strips of bacon with the tongs so she used her fingers! I asked her if she had any consideration for others, which she replied "who the hell are you?". I LOUDLY replied "someone who doesn't want Norovirus from a person like YOU! She was so embarrassed that she left the area without eating.

Chocolate Buffet on the Elation last month I saw several kids with a family handling cookies and then put them back on the tray and move on. The parents did not say a word. On the same cruise during the muster drill a man who had started his partying early puked right in the middle of everyone during the drill.

In these situations some people have to be called out on their bad behavior. I'm glad she fled the scene. Good on you.

Coming to The Buffet in your Robe! Would you do that in a Hotel? It's just gross to me.

I don't like robes being used as cover ups either but you know what? There is no rule to quote on Carnival to say people can't. Carnival might rethink if enough complaints were registered.
