Ventura - Eric Lanyard's Afternoon Tea

I paid £15 and tried the afternoon tea served in the Epicurean.

You get 3 savoury items, 3 sweet desert items and scones. Plus a choice of tea.

Service was good and it was an enjoyable experience because of the calm ambience in the restaurant.

As for the sophistication and wow factor. I was a little disappointed but then I am not sure if I am an afternoon tea person.

One thing I was very unsure about is what Eric Lanyard brings as the afternoon tea offering was nothing special. M&S offerings are better.

I would say, if you are curious, best thing is to try it and make up your own mind.

We did not like the afternoon tea at all and actually enjoyed the inclusive tea in the MDR better.

It is very poor compared to other examples on other cruise lines and on land. Far too heavy on the sweet items IMO and tea bags rather than proper loose tea(even though they advertise this on the menu)

Pity as most of the extra pay for menus on Pando are really good.

We had this afternoon tea on Britannia in her first season when it was the 'new' thing to do. It was the 2nd day of our cruise - thought we'd do it when we were still hungry! - but we really did not enjoy it at all. Far too sweet (and hubby has a sweet tooth). I think it is one of those things you do and make your own mind up as we are all different.
