What’s wrong with Nassau?

I keep reading how much people don’t like Nassau. We’ve never been and this is our first cruise. What’s so bad about it?

I will be in Nassau next week for the 6th time. We have done something different every time and enjoyed every thing we have done. I have never felt unsafe during the day. When I am traveling only with my daughter there are places we won't go at night - but that is true of almost any where.

We love Nassau and have been there many times. We don’t find the vendors overly aggressive but have run the gauntlet at Dunn’s River Falls. LOL. Just avoid the straw market if pesky vendors bug you.

Some of our favorite activities are a walking tour to the Queens Staircase and downtown, including shopping at John Bull and eating at a local restaurant; Beach day at British Colonial Hilton a short walk from the port; water park and aquarium at Atlantis; Adastrana Gardens and the flamingos; gaming at Atlantis or BahaMar.

We go back in June and trying to decide what to do this time. Maybe Blue Lagoon?

So far from where we've been the price for the most aggressive straw market vendors is hands down Labadee. Dunn's River Falls seemed very tame by comparison. ;)

Nothing is wrong with Nassau! Every Port is what you make of it! We have been to Nassau dozens of times and always have a good time!

We were just there last weekend and took the "Bites of Nassau" Tru Bahamian Food Tour. A bit of history, a lot of delicious food! We visited places that Jim and I never would have found and will definitely go back to. Our guide was Capt Ron who was delightful!

We also often walk up to John Watlings Distillery where you can take a self guided tour of the small batch distillery and have a delicious Pina Colada or other drink in their lovely Plantation style building.

I know there is a Segway tour you can book privately, taxi island tours, Atlantis, and many other options! Google is your friend! :D

Make a plan ahead of time, and enjoy your day in Nassau!

Where did you book this tour? Sounds like what we'd love!
