Okay, I finally got my full review finished. There aren't as many photo as here, but there are 2,065 words!

If anyone is interested, you can read it at http://travel4brews.com/2018/03/22/ncl-norwegian-spirit-review/

Excellent review...especially on what is a horrible rainy morning here in Belfast :)

Your review was great! And thanks for responding to my laundry question Now I know to wait and keep an eye out for the deal...rather than spring for a more expensive option.

Also, I haven't even sailed and I agree about feeling nickel and dimed...if I'm "paying" for the drinks package, I should be able to get water and good coffee!

Did you eat at any of the specialty restaurants? Booked let bistro, Cagney's and hoping to get the tappanyaki once onboard. Was it difficult getting booked into this onboard if you did? The Italian which seems to be part of the buffet doesn't appeal to me! Thanks again

Teppanyaki on Spirit is small, maybe only one table?? but you also can't book it ahead of time you have to book once on board.

Continuing with the photos... The fitness center and Galaxy lounge are right next to each other. The gym was small but never got too crowded. There was always a treadmill or elliptical machine available.

Inside the Galaxy lounge is a very unique feature, a bridge viewing room. In my photo, the shades are down to preserve night vision on the bridge. But during the day, you can watch the officers operate the ship. The bridge viewing room also has photos from the construction of the ship and memorabilia from inaugural calls at many ports.

Love the rest of your photos. How was the food on the ship?

We only ate in the two main dining rooms and I though the meals were good, not great. The presentation is attractive. They do the best they can, but the ingredients are definitely economical which I guess is par for the course with the advent of specialty restaurants. Most MDR meat is sliced from roasts and fish is very thin farm raised varieties. The most luxurious entrée is probably the strip steak that is on the "available anytime" menu.

Lunch in raffles was typical buffet fare. I think we only ate 2 lunches onboard because we were out all day except for the sea days, of course. After returning from port at 4-5pm, we usually popped into Blue Lagoon for some chicken wings to tide us over until a late dinner.

Speaking of main dining rooms...

  • 1 month later...

Thanks for sharing these lovely pictures. I do not think I would be on the NCL Spirit, but it is great to see another cruise ship in detailed photos. I am amazed by how you woke up so early to take pictures and barely any people in these pictures. Usually the casino would be full of people?

Funny, the sprit looks exactly like it did in 2010 last time I sailed her. Still my favorite ship.

Unlike most other ships of that age, the Spirit hasn't had a refurb. It looks the same as it did in 2010 because it is basically the same.
