Are the ships decorated for Christmas?

And if so, when do the decorations usually go up? Sailing Harmony in December, first cruise that time of year! Thanks!

There will be some decorations. Probably a tree in either your Centrum or Promenade depending on the ship. If Harmony, there's no Centrum. I've done cruises in both December and January that had Christmas decorations up, or still up. We also had lights wrapped around some of the handrails on the stairs and on the sides of the atrium/centrum.

I actually just got back from Mariner of the Seas that was decorated for Chinese New Year's (sailing out of Singapore)

The ships we have been on at Christmas time have been decked out.

There will be a tree in the promenade, ginger bread houses, tinsel, lights, etc. Generally they start going up after Thanksgiving.

We were on the Harmony the first week of December last year and the decorations were already up. For example, there was a huge tree in the Promenade, snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, as well as smaller decorations all over the ship.

Then midway into the cruise, they set up a nifty gingerbread village in the Promenade, which was great for photos.

And it's not all Christmas, either. There are several minnora's and Jewish decor around also. Conference rooms are set aside for self-guided worship services upon request.

Yes there’s usually a token chanukiah for the thousands of Jewish passengers that cruise around the holidays. Chanukah is not a major holiday.
