RCCL Casino Convenience Fee?

Hello!

I’ve been researching Club Royale, and reading anout their continually revamping loyalty program -

Something I keep seeing is people talking about loyalty tiers causing club royale to waive a 5% convenience fee to get money at the table or cage.

What does that mean? If I bring money into the casino, does Club Royale expect me to pay a 5% fee to convert it into chips and back?

What it means is that if you get money (like an advance) from your Sea Pass card (it's a charge to your room account) there is a 5% fee unless you are Prime or above in the CR Player's program or have other arrangements such as a pre-arranged credit line. There is never a charge for cash or chips buy-ins at the tables or at the cashier's cage.

You can place a charge on your onboard account and get cash in return. So, you can charge $1000 to your onboard account and a $50 service charge (for a total of $1050) is place on your onboard account. You get $1000 in cash. At the end of the cruise, you clear your room charges either in cash or to your credit card. As far as your credit card is concerned, it looks like a big bar tab, so there is no cash advance fee from your bank.

If you bring your own cash (and most people do), just use it as cash.

Consider that if you make two $500 ATM withdrawals, you will pay the two $5.99 ATM fees. That $11.98 to use the ATM vs. $50 to get cash from your onboard account.
