Must dos in Honolulu?

just wondering how many nights post cruise to book in Honolulu. What are the absolute must dos IYHO?

"Must Do's" vary by person. The list above is fun and can easily be accomplished over 2 full days.

Might also drive around the island to check out the other beaches and towns and eats.

Highly recommend picking up a copy of Insight Guides Hawaii and learning about the history and customs of the items you will be visiting. You'll get so much more out of your visit to the Islands. None of the major sites have changed since then, so just pick up any of the editions in new or used condition and save a few bucks.

If you can spend at least 3 days pre and/or post cruise, you'll be glad you did.

I would add the Polynesian Cultural Center and Hanauma Bay for snorkeling.

If you are American - I will confirm Caribbean Bound's first item their list. Pearl Harbor is a must.

The list is a good start, but I'd say that is a minimum of 3 full days.

After the USS Arizona Memorial my #2 must do would an outrigger canoe ride in Waikiki. It is the closest to surfing a non-surfer will ever get. I think the catamarans off the beach are great too.

Honolulu is a great city for dining too; there is everything from world class cuisine deserving of Michelin stars to down home, local Hawaiian joints.

You could very easily fill a week without trying on Oahu after the cruise.

Rent a car and drive to the north shore where the Turtle Bay Hilton is. Do it early because traffic on H1 back into Honolulu at rush hour is horrific. We're going on a shark cage excursion from the north shore when we're there next. I've been to Hawaii about a half dozen times and always find new things to see and do. Hanauma Bay is also a must.....take the city bus - catch it on Kalakawa Ave or book thru your hotel. Have a cocktail at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Beautiful setting.

For me it is two things.

Pearl Harbor and if you do a tour try to visit other areas related to the war.

A simple things. Walk on the beach at Waikiki. I know that seems simple but it is enjoyable.
