I am trying to arrange through my Saga booking agent,to take a later flight to Portugal and board The Serenity at Vila Nova de Gaia,in the early hours of the morning......so I can attend a family funeral before I leave. The company say they can arrange it and the captain will accept me.Does this happen very often, are there any risks to the plan......will the port be shut, will everybody be asleep and I can’t actually get on the boat??I leave on 17th July and the turnaround for the company answering any queries is very slow

Can anybody put my mind at rest please?
