Does anyone have any recommendations for this port

If you are interested in wine, this is a terrific port. Just rent a car of book a tour to see some of the regional wineries (among the best in the world) and also visit Saint Emilion which is a delightful village with more then its share of wine tasting rooms.

If you are doing an overnight stop, the city of Bordeaux has plenty of good to great eating venues and night life. The city is also worthy of a day visit and you can find plenty of info online as to what there is to see and do in the city.
