John Bull Posted July 15, 2018 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2018 Santa Cruz de Tenerife? It's a very easy 5 - 10 minute walk from the cruise / ferry terminal across a footbridge into town. But if your ship is berthed on the far side of the port there's a free shuttle between ship and terminal. JB :)
SmithieNix Posted July 15, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted July 15, 2018 Thanks John. If the ship is berthed at the far side are you allowed to walk or do you have to take the shuttle? Sent from my SM-G965F using Forums mobile app
John Bull Posted July 15, 2018 #4 Share Posted July 15, 2018 Thanks John. If the ship is berthed at the far side are you allowed to walk or do you have to take the shuttle? Sent from my SM-G965F using Forums mobile app Sorry, Smithie, I don't know.:( We embarked there and our ship was berthed close to the terminal. Late afternoon & we had an 8pm all-aboard so we decided to take a look round the town. A port bus was parked outside the terminal, some passengers were on it waiting, so we boarded - thinking it was a shuttle into town. All the conversations around us were in German, and passengers joining the bus were coming from the terminal. We checked with them to confirm that the bus was going into town. It wasn't. It was a free shuttle to Mein Schiff, berthed on the opposite mole :D BTW, signage in the terminal isn't good. Inside the terminal you need to head upstairs, and there's a pedestrian bridge over the main road. From there it's a short and easy walk, but we didn't find much of interest in the town centre. There's a Cicar car rental agency in the cruise terminal. Excellent agency, and the best-known one in the Canaries - we've used them on other islands. Pre-book to be sure.
