World Cup 2018 - which ship to watch and cruise?

Recommended Posts

Which ship can I watch the World Cup on?

In addition, who is paying for it?

How do I get onto it if it is already at sea?

and more importantly how will Australia fare?

this will be a thread about the world cup

Not a great result but our boys played reasonably solid, I don't know how we can score but defensively it wasn't too bad. 2-1 loss is not the drubbing many were predicting.

Denmark beat Peru 1-0 in the other group game.

I think most ships will have some coverage.

Passengers will pay for it.

If it’s at sea you’ll need to swim or get an air lift.

Australia won’t make the next round.

If I wanted to watch someone go 90 minutes without scoring I’d go out with me mate, he’s gone about 60 years.

Which Passengers will be paying my fare?

I still think our boys have the capacity to go through to the next round but they need to play better or at least to play to the same capacity but with some better luck.

Yeah like most things in life, no matter how good you are, how hard you work you still need the luck to go your way.

LOL Very good!

I'm sure i know some people watchers would find your mate entertaining. As long as he hasn't given up!

Cheers

I didn't think they played badly - their acting skills just weren't up to standard!

I think the refs have set a dangerous standard with that video call though! That guy took a dive and should've got a yellow.

I see Darryl Braithwaite has gone over with the Fanatics and won't be singing on the cruise ships for a while.

Cheers

I think you can create your own luck as long as you make the most of your opportunities.

But yes I've seen my share of people who have worked hard for success only to have bad luck intervene!

I for example feel extremely lucky to have cruised even once in my life. Now I have to work hard, prioritise and pray for good health so I can go more often.

Cheers

Exactly, we are very lucky to be able to cruise and do all that we do. So many would never have the opportunity.

We had all matches live on The Carnival Spirit. Either in Sports Bar or Casino Bar. They even had the Australian matches on the in-cabin TV's.. Best match was Iceland v's Argentina 1-1 Draw. 12 of us at 2;00 in morning, Aussies, Pommies, Japanese. A German & a Peruivian going bonkers. The other good match was Brazil v's Costa Rica leaving it to extra time..

Hey Mic .....just so you know ....the Celebrity Silhouette has got every match live....even brought the theatre show forward to 7pm so that they could screen the England game live in the theatre..lots of Pommies on board 😁... and the Oriana screened all matches last week..even more Pommies ( and really old 😱😱) ..so there are two ships for you 👍

Cheers Gbenjo, I know there is a lot of interest from many different countries but as so many ships have US sports channels and the US didn't make it. you never know what will be shown. Enjoy your travels.

Last three champs out in prelim rounds

I think it is tough to keep a winning WC team for more than 4 years, as the team that qualifies for the first world cup is often quite different to the team playing in the subsequent WC.

Yep I also think the pressure is on and they become a bit of a target for other teams “If we can beat the champs .....”

The football life as an international is usually (for most players) only around 4 or 5 years. That means if they are in the team for qualifying for one world cup (2-3 years prior), they are likely not going to be there for the subsequent one (6-8 years after joining the team). A change in personnel like that makes it hard to maintain the skill levels, depth and team structure for more than one WC.
