CocoCay port cancelled and replaced with Miami Stop

December 29,2018 sailing out of New Orleans

Was scheduled for January 1 at CocoCay, January 2 at Nassau, and January 3 at Key West...

Just got e-mail from RCCL stating CocoCay stop in cancelled due to construction and is being replaced with a wonderful stop in Miami...

Our relaxing beach day is gone... I'm sure the Miami excursions with be wonderful and the tour guides will be completely sober at 8am on New Year's Day...

Any other affected sailings at this point???

I would be pretty pissed...that is an awful switch!

I think it’s a great switch. Much more to do in Miami and if you want a relaxing day on the beach, that is not entirely impossible on the many beaches in the area. Try the nude beach for added fun.

It doesn't look like they have switched on the December 3-4 night Bahamas cruises from Port Canaveral yet.

A 3-4 nighter doesn't give many options to stop in other places...at least, you will have great cell phone coverage in Miami! I think I'd just stay on the ship and have a "docked sea day"!

I would think as construction moves along that all stops there will be cancelled for some time.

That sucks, not only is your beach day messed up, but to do anything from port of Miami is going to cost a lot more $$$$. Even getting out of the port can be a pain.

Yep.. would not be happy. Not sure what else they can do though.

We WERE and the January 12 sailing I called last night and canceled. Key West and Coco Cay was the only reason we were going. I understand why they canceled but Miami is NOT a port of call.:mad:

It's still showing on my calendar for the 18 Jan trip on Anthem

I am not a huge fan of private stops but I would take that over Miami as a port of call. This change would not make me happy at all.

Oh no! Now I’m worried about our stop on Jan 3rd from Anthem. Our cruise is already port thin with 3 stops in 8 nights (and Port Canaveral is one). I will not be happy with a stop in Miami. I was so looking forward to the bungalow we have booked.

I thought cancelling CoCoCay was the norm. I have never gotten there instead had extra sea days.

Haven't received anything for Mariner yet. Supposed to be in CocoCay December 19th, but with Rhapsody cancelled on the 20th...

I'll post if I receive anything.
