Has anyone stayed on Horizon or Vista in a balcony cabin directly under the lido restaurant? I like the idea of having the lido overhang above our balcony for shade but concerned about noise. It would be in the vicinity of rooms 9384-9396. Any help appreciated :)

I can’t say much about that particular noise but we sailed on the Splendor in January and we were on floor 2 literally right underneath the stage and we couldn’t hear the productions at night. I found the noise around the ship to be pretty contained. I would imagine it’s the same on other ships.

We sailed in a cabin under the Lido buffet on Fascination back in February. (Yes, I know, it's not Vista.) We heard carts rolling overhead day and night. It did interfere with sleep but it didn't ruin our cruise.

We always book Lido deck cabins on ships that have them, and make sure we have cabins above and below on ships that don't have cabins on Lido. We didn't have a choice on Fascination because we were four cabins sailing together.

I highly recommend changing your cabin if you can.

We are on Horizon in just over a week and are in a room near that area you are asking about. If I remember this post, I will let u know the beginning of August when we get back.

We were hesitant getting a room right under the Lido deck because of the noise. Hopping that we didn’t make a bad choice. In that, I normally wake up early and go to bed late, so hopefully my sleep patterns keep me out of any noise.

I was in 9379 for the Horizon TA. I didn't notice any noise out of the norm. I could hear a cart rumble overhead once in a while, but it was only during the day and not anything that was bothersome. And I was in my cabin a lot more than usual because I picked up that terrible cough that was going around so I was napping a lot. The only thing that was HIGHLY annoying was the frequent slamming of cabin and balcony doors. The carts overhead were very minor compared to that.

We did a cabin under the Lido on the Vista (only cabin left for a casino run offer). Was fine during the day/evening but in the early mornings about 4am you start to hear carts rolling non stop. I am a light sleeper so definitely wouldn't do it again.

I'm in the same boat - My cabin in right below what would be Blue Iguana Cantina. Where was your cabin at?

the lido deck is carpeted so no great noise issues. the only time you will have noise is those rolling carts (and boy are they loud) early in the morning when they are rolling with beverages. but it doesnt last long at all.

the blue iguana area is NOT carpeted so you will get that chair scrapping noises

Every Carnival ship we've sailed had tiled floors in the Lido food areas.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just off the Horizion on deck 9, right under the buffet. We rarely heard any noise except for a weird jet flying over sound. Figure it was some rolling cart, but wasn't very loud and definitely not something to keep you up. We would get the same room again. Being only 1 floor below lido was very convenient.

Thanks so much for the reply! Would you mind if I asked what cabin you were in?

We are on the Horizon right now with two adjoining inside room. We don’t hear any noise. That was our main concern also. We have done this deck below the lido on other Carnival ships and heard lots of deck chairs scraping across the deck when they clean the lido every night. On the Horizon, very quiet.
