Western Caribbean Cruise in June 2018

Hi my Husband and I are taking our first cruise on the NCL in June of this year Western Caribbean. We booked the Eastern Caribbean but they changed it to the Western because of the hurricanes. IDK. Little disappointed. I know we cant bring our own water and that we have to buy water on board but can i bring an empty water in my suitcase and fill it up on board so I can take it with me to the ports. I had read some ports do not even sell water or have water fountains.
