TMCHF Posted February 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2018 I booked a cruise intending to go solo, however Costa would not sell the cabin as solo (even if I paid double). I had to book via my agent for two people, the agent made-up a second passenger (all their idea to get me on the cruise). The idea being once I’m onboard I simply say my companion became ill. Drink Package: will they charge me for two even though there is only 1 person in the cabin? Or bill me for two as that is how I booked? My agent told me to purchase once onboard as buying in advance I’d have to buy two. Thoughts?
Dancer Bob Posted February 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2018 I think your agent is right. I've found that single occupancy of a premium cabin has better discounts and is sometimes better value than booking a basic.
nanwel Posted March 19, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2018 this is a late answer - not sure of your sale date - I was cruising and they did not charge me double for a solo cabin, and I paid my drink pkg on board, so only paid for 1. same price as prepaid if you buy day
ighten Posted June 24, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 24, 2018 Probably a bit to late but I found - when a friend travelled with us - that though the website wont allow it if you use call back then they did it quite simply with no issues.
