We have an interior on 4, should we be moving to 7? Noise being below the bars on 5?

Being so far out should we ask for one of the larger interiors or are these held for acceessibility requirements?

No, as previously said, the bars above are carpeted. We have been in 4052 on the Journey, which is right below Mosaic and never heard anything. I think any noise issues are mostly staterooms on 8 which are below the pool deck, which is a hard surface so chairs can be heard scraping across the deck.

What's happening is all the stateroom descriptions for Pursuit appear to be pulling from the ones already loaded for Journey and Quest . . . they need to build individualized descriptions for Pursuit staterooms since they are different rather than linking what's already on the site about staterooms to Pursuit. Yes, they have some work to do on the website, as usual someone didn't think this through when building the Pursuit part of the site.

Hi Procter, thanks for the welcome back wishes. Yes, I’m home again. I’ll be writing about Cuba soon.

Re. Slot machines, I’m told no, there won’t be any on the Azamara Pursuit.

Re. Deck Plans showing tub and shower in top suites, where are you seeing this? When I download the PDF of the Pursuit’s deck plan I only see tubs in the Club Continent suites (Below.) If you’ll direct me to the erroneous deck plan I’ll send the update request off to our website team.

Thanks!

Click on "Features" under the Owner's Suite picture on this web page (look at deck 6, 7, or 8) and you'll find what procter is pointing out.

The adding of cabins on deck 4 is a disappointment to me. I really like that open feel of the area as you walk down the stairs to Guest Relations and that will be lost now. I understand about maximising revenue, but it's a shame. As for "art gallery" in the extra space afforded by the shops on previous Adonia instead of seating for Mosaic I don't like that idea either. I will wait to see it in person before passing final judgement though.

I suppose it’s because we don’t use deck 4 that often I thought others may appreciate the extra ocean view availability. However on reflection if the result is that deck 5 feels crowded especially in the Mosaic area because of the relocation of Tours & Future Cruise then it will have a negative impact on us. The allocation of the extra shop area to be an Art Gallery is also disappointing, however we will have to wait and see how it all works in August.

I'm concerned that not having a Sunset Bar on the outdoor part of Windows will change the ambiance of that area, and not for the better. We did a cruise on the Ocean Princess before it was sold to Oceania and ate most breakfasts and lunches in that outdoor area. There was no bar and there were just rows of tables uninterrupted from one side of the deck to the other. It was like dining (actually more like eating than dining) in the outdoor area of an inexpensive cafeteria. Just wall-to-wall tables.

What was especially interesting was that there weren't significantly more tables, as additional bus areas had to be added as the Sunset Bar is currently used for some bus functions, like fresh silverware settings, breakfast juices, etc.

I am also concerned about the changes required by the seemingly greedy addition of five staterooms on deck 4 where the concierge and shore excursions are now on Quest and Journey. Mosaic Cafe is all but wiped out by the addition made by a prior owner to the port-side shop. And we all thought Spirits would be enlarged by removing the Casino, but that space will now be occupied by Shore Excursions and future cruise sales, so deck 5 seating will be severely compromised by moving Shore Excursions and cruise sales up to deck 5. In any case, those two functions don't belong on a deck otherwise used for dining, drinking, entertainment, and otherwise relaxing. They belong on deck 4 with other cruise service functions like guest relations and concierge.

I’m not too impressed with the proposals for Deck 5. However I will wait and see how it is in reality. I agree, sales do not sit comfortably with dining and leisurely drinks.

Now that Spirits is the primary location for Trivia I would think that sales would also not work with trivia and especially music trvia

Totally agree about the loss of Mosaic space. That space is usually overcrowded. Perhaps they can offer coffee/tea service in the Discoveries Bar to deal with overflow.

Currently booked on Pursuit, hugely disappointed with the lack of a sunset bar, and the continued obsession with selling"Art", so now not looking forward to our trip as much. After the furore about the proposed changes to make a speciality restaurant at the rear of Windows you would think Azamara would realise how much passengers enjoy that facility, and the great ambiance it provides. Will also be detrimental to the indoor area with waiters processing to and fro to the bar area for service. Bahh!!

Personally I should be glad to see the slot machines removed from all 3 ships. It can be difficult to have a conversation at Spirits bar with awful amusement arcade sounds blaring out behind you.

Agree.

The fact is none of us have a say and are truly nitpicking about very small nuances between the ships. If everything was the same in this world it would a boring place. I’m looking forward to sailing on the Pursuit one day soon.

You will never find us in one of the four new ocean view rooms on the 4th floor.

I couldn’t bear having our door open out on to that space with so many people around.

Me neither.

I don’t think we are nit picking it’s just we know what will work on these ships from sharp end experience. Of course we will see no change to the dry dock but it will be interesting to see who is entitled to wear I told you so badges

I think they’ll put in a second corridor so the cabin doors don’t open straight out, but it will still ruin the space.

Hi marmaduke,

We are not moving the Mosaic Cafe; that’s the side it was on upon receipt.

Re. The three spaces for Future Cruise Sales, they are being referred to as pods. I’ll ask around to see if there exists an illustration I can share. I’m curious as well.

And anticipating the next question, yes, there will still be a Future Cruise Manager on every sailing, we are not automating!

I have been informed the Future Cruise area on Deck 5 are not 'pods' but will be actual desks with chairs, all surrounded by walls.

Bonnie, I can see that in the Cruise Again area by the Photo Shop and the enclosed area between the toilets which is presumably the cashier area on the other ships. However the random areas marked Cruise Again and Shore Excursions in Spirits appears open to the lounge, could that possibly be a waiting or browsing area? If so isn’t there possible conflict with those looking for seating in Spirits?

On the Deck Plan there is a little bit of a corridor to the last two 4066 & 4068, but it looks very thin. Not sure it would be feasible to continue it all the way along.

I’m just guessing with my eye, but if you pan on the 360° photo and draw a line from the existing corridor with the same width it would seem to come to roughly where that mirror is at the other end. Look at the current tiling on the floor to give an idea. As I say I’m guessing, but I don’t think that drawn corridor on the deck plan is to scale.

Yes, I agree with you - so maybe the deck plan is misleading. I hope they do put a corridor there. If so, they would be good staterooms, we’ve had 4052 and really liked where it is, so these would be similar, but I certainly wouldn’t fancy one of them if there wasn’t a corridor.

This is how Spirits on Journey now looks with its pod removing our favourite sofas when with a group. Personally I think they’ve really spoilt Spirits. Won’t be there tonight as entertainment is only in the Living Room with a new group that joined today

I looks to me as if they are about to ruin the midship public areas on decks 4 and 5 on Pursuit and probably on the other ships later.

It will be interesting to hear your valued opinion of the new entertainment.

Thanks for the report and photos Ann. Sorry Azamara. If you are reading this, an epic fail to do that to Spirits. What are they thinking?

Looking forward to your updates. You are always sensible and well balanced with lots of experience. Whatever, have a wonderful time on Journey.

Phil
