Early arrival to San Juan - suggestions on what to do?

Recommended Posts

Our flight arrives in San Juan, Puerto Rico at 5:30 am and boarding on our ship doesn’t begin until 12:30 pm. Any suggestions on what to do to kill time? Any good early morning breakfast spots in San Juan? Thanks in advance - we are first time cruisers learning as we go.

We love this place! https://www.waffle-era.com/ I just looked at their menu and there is an emphasis on tea on the front page, however we had amazing local coffee there and the wondrous waffles with great toppings. We spent a lovely rainy afternoon there once, enjoying conversation with the owners, locals and other visitors. It's located in a nice location to walk in, especially pretty is the Paseo de la Princesa, a walkway along the water. On a weekend it has been our experience that there are sometimes artists here and lots of families enjoying the outdoors. Laurie

Barrachina in Old San Juan serves breakfast from 0700 until 1100 daily, and provides an area for your luggage while you have breakfast. They'll also get you a Taxi to get you to the Cruise Ship port assuming you will be boarding at the Pan American Pier. The Old Town pier is no more than 10 minutes walk from Barrachina.:)
