Benny&daJets Posted February 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2018 We are cruising on the NCL Dawn in January 2019 and will be going to Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire, Barbados, Grenada, and St. Lucia. We would like to snorkel in at least three ports. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best ports, excursions, or even private tours for snorkeling? Thank you! hancock Posted February 28, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2018 Bonaire, book the Woodwind for great sail, lunch and drift snorkel. It fills up quickly. It is a private excursion.
cmdchiefthom Posted March 4, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2018 All the ports you listed have decent snorkeling not only on the reefs, but also on shipwrecks, close in to shore. I especially enjoyed a Catamaran excursion to the Pitons, in St. Lucia. If I had to pick 3, they would be St. Lucia as I mentioned, Bonaire and and Barbados.:)
dot73 Posted March 12, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 12, 2018 Bonaire is by far the best and Woodwind is a great company and it is just a 10 minute walk from the pier.

Definitely Bonaire and St Lucia (next to The Pitons) Woodwind is the company I used in Bonaire. Barbados is cool to do on a catamaran and swim with the turtles. I have used Silver Moon and Calabaza. Both are wonderful. :)
framer Posted March 28, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 28, 2018 The sculpture park in Granada is a must. Best I've ever done/seen. http://www.puregrenada.com/explore/scuba-diving/underwater-sculpture-park/ framer
Benny&daJets Posted October 17, 2019 Author #8 Share Posted October 17, 2019 We were not able to sail on the Dawn, but are now going to go to the Southern Caribbean in October of 2020 on the NCL Breakaway. I was wondering if there is a good chance of snorkeling with sea turtles at all that time of year? Our ports we are going to are Barbados, St. Lucia, Bonaire, Curacaa, and Aruba. Stinger-pr Posted October 24, 2019 #9 Share Posted October 24, 2019 Your best (and maybe cheapest) chance as far as I know for swimming with turtles is in Barbados. Most of the beach clubs at Carlisle bay (Boatyard, Harbor Lights, etc) offer short trips to snorkel with turtles in their admission fee.
