Following others setting up a thread for AMA. We do not board in Budapest until 21st September but will be watching with interest. Our first river cruise after 60+ ocean cruises several of whom have had deviations and one was cancelled the night before sailing so we are masters in making Plan B was work and “moving on”.

just completed danube vilshofen to budapest on amaserena. fortunately no disruption. we heard about other vessels that had to bus into budapest. difference might be that the amaserena takes 1.5m draught vs many others that take 1.7m, 7 inches can make difference.

also perhaps lighter load, the amaserna takes 162 pass + 51 crew, vs something like Viking Gullveig 190+50.

the sail into budapest plus the night cruise were spectacular.

Hello everyone! My business partner is doing the Blue Danube Discovery, Budapest-Nuremberg right now. I've been following his journey through the AMA app and it looks like the AMA Certo didn't make it to Budapest last Saturday. They embarked the ship in Komárom @ 7:00 PM. We are doing the same itinerary at the end of September. Hope we can embark in Budapest. I'm really looking forward to the illuminations Cruise.

Found this article this morning. https://welovebudapest.com/en/2018/08/21/low-water-levels-in-budapest-reveal-rarely-seen-danube-sights/

On Thursday August 23, we were told that the AmaLea would not be able to make it to Budapest because of low river levels. Our cruise, the Melodies of the Danube, was scheduled to begin on Sunday, August 26. AMA was putting us up at the Sofitel Chain Bridge (where we had booked an extra night pre-cruise) on Sunday night and then, after our scheduled tours on Monday, we would be bused to Vienna to meet the boat. But then - it rained! When we arrived at our hotel on Saturday, there was a message for us - the AmaLea was on her way! And so, here we are - looking forward to our Illuminations Cruise tonight!

We are scheduled to board the AmaDante on September 6 in Luxembourg and sail on the Moselle and Rhine to Basel. We will be in Brussels for a week before that attending a wedding. What do they do if you are already in Europe if they cancel the cruise? Our flights were purchased thru AMA.

Have you left email addresses, mobile phone nos., contact address in Brussels, so that you can be contacted by AMA if needed. Take AMA email and phone nos. so you can also contact AMA - just to put your mind at rest.
